1 <br />1 <br />1 <br />E <br />TUESDAY, NOVEMBER lst, 1927. <br />The Board of County Commissioners in and for Indian River County, Florida, met at <br />the. Court House in Vero Beach utt10:o6c1obto;f !X.Tueodey, November lot 19279 with the <br />following members of the Board present: John H. .Atkin, Chairman, Geo. A. Braddock; <br />J. V. La$ruce J. J. P. Hamilton and 0. 0., Helseth. Also present were Niles Marren, <br />Clerk and J. M. Knights :.Sheriff, by Deputy. <br />The minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved. <br />W. F. Graves, representing the Sebastian Land Company of Mabasso appeared before <br />the Board and requested that road, heretofore declared public, be laid out and built <br />directly East from the road leading from Mabasso Fest, to connect with the present <br />Dixie Highway. It was ordered that this road be constructed as soon as the County <br />Engineer can get to this work. <br />Gus A. Tomlinson, attorney, appeared before the Board in behalf of J.W.Anderson, <br />convicted Aza of unlawful possession of intoxicating liquor. It was ordered that the <br />sentence imposed upon said Anderson, which is to be carried out subject to the offer <br />of this Board, be made and served by working under the direction of the County Engineer. <br />Chas. E. Berg appeared before the Board respecting additional road to be constru- <br />cted <br />in <br />Jpecial Road & <br />Bridge District No. 4. Mr. <br />Vim Lane also <br />appeared before the <br />Board <br />in <br />opposition to <br />such movement and presented <br />a petition in <br />opposition thereto, <br />It <br />was <br />ordered that in <br />view the plans and specifications were <br />laid out <br />and defined prior <br />to <br />the <br />vote for bonds <br />to construct said roads, that no change <br />be made <br />in the same. <br />J. P. Geyer appeared before the Board regarding the Dixie Highway at Gifford which <br />is located <br />on two lots owned by him. <br />It was <br />ordered <br />that the County Engineer re -stake <br />the lots in.the <br />Ropy subdivision to <br />Gifford, <br />fronting <br />on the Dixie Highway, in order <br />that deeds be procured for that part of the lots now covered by the right-of-way of <br />the Dixie Highway. <br />D. A. Pfarr submitted in writing a proposition for Court House site in Vero Beach, <br />east of the railroad which was ordered filed and taken unler consideration. <br />ROAD PETITION* <br />The following read petition was received, read and filed: <br />STATE OF FLORIDA, ) <br />s <br />COUNTY OF INDIAN RIVER.) <br />TO THE HONORABLE BOARD OF COUNTY 00IMSSIONERS OF SAID COUNTY: <br />Gentlemen: <br />We, the undersigned, citizens of the County of Indian River, 'State of Florida, <br />respectfully represent that the necessities of the public require a County Road to be <br />laid out as follows, to -wits <br />Commencing at: Beginning at the Dixie Highway right-of-way on <br />the quarter section line dividing South-west Quarter, See.10, <br />Tp. 32 S.R.39 as per diagram in this petition, said road to tun <br />East to Indian River a distance of approximately one mile. <br />Said road right-of-way to be not less than Fifty feet in width. <br />We therefore petition your honorable body to cause to be laid out and opened a <br />county Road as described above, and we, the owners of the land through which said road <br />s sought to be laid out, in consideration of the sum of One dollar to us each and <br />ly in hand paid by the said County of Indian River, the receipt of which is hereby <br />edged, . hereby agree to give the right-of-way through our lands, as shoran by the <br />t accompanying this petition, and relinquish all claims for damage by reason thereof. <br />It ,was ordered that a Committee be appointed composed of :A.V1.Woods# J.D.Edwards �� <br />
