WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 4, 1959 <br />The Board of County Commissioners of Indian River County, met <br />at the Courthouse, Vero Beach, Florida in a special called meeting held at <br />9:00 o'clock A. M., Wednesday, November 4, 1959. Present were Robert W. <br />Graves, D. B. McCullers, Jr. and Dr. B. Q. Waddell. Absent were Donald <br />Macdonald and J. J. P. Hamilton. <br />The Chairman called the meeting to order and announced this <br />meeting was called for the purpose of canvassing the votes for the Special <br />Election held on November 3, 1959, when the question of approval or rejection <br />of a change in the Brevard and Indian River County Line was presented to <br />the voters of the County. <br />After said votes were canvassed and upon Motion made by Commissioner <br />Waddell, seconded by Commissioner McCullers and carried, the following <br />Resolution was adopted: <br />RESOLUTION <br />BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of <br />Indian River County, Florida, as follows: <br />1. That pursuant to the provisions of Chapter 59 -486, Laws of <br />Florida, there was conducted a special general election on November 3, 1 <br />in said county when the question of approval or rejection of said Act was sub - <br />milted. <br />1. That the results of said election have been tabulated and <br />reported by the officials conducting said election and the results of said <br />election have been canvassed and return thereof made. <br />3. That in said election, there were ;:2-4ii votes cast (Yes) <br />in favor of the adoption of said Act, and there were SS 3- votes cast (No) <br />against the adoption of said Act. <br />4. That a majority of the electors voting in Indian River County, <br />Florida, in said election did vote (Yes) in favor of the adoption of said Act; <br />and, <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a certified copy of this Resolu- <br />tion be forthwith forwarded to the Secretary of State of Florida. <br />There being no further business, upon Motion made, seconded and <br />carried, the Board then adjourned. <br />
