The Board of County Commissioners in and ,for Indian River County, Florida, met at the Court House in Vero Beach, at 10 o'clock A.M.Tuesday, February 5th 1959, with the following members of the Board present: John H. Atkin, Temporary Chairman, J. D. Yongue; J. W. LaBruoe; J.J.P.Hamilton and Albert 0. Helseth. Also present were Miles Farren, Clerk and =Clark S. Rice, Sheriff. The minutes of the previous meeting was read and approved. The Tax Collector filed -his monthly report of license issued, showing $69.00 collected for the State and $34.50 collected for the County. It was moved by J. D. Yongue that Albert O. Helseth be elected permanent Chai man of this Board. It was moved by J. F. LaBruoe that John H. Atkin be elected permanent Chair- man of this Board. Secret ballot being taken it was determined that Albert O.-Helseth is elected permanent Chairman of this Board until further orders, he receiving three votes and John H. Atkin, one vote. Ballots being taken for the appointment of a County Attorney for the ensuing u year, James T. Vooelle received two votes and Paul H. Nisle received one vote, and it was declared that lames T. Vooelle is selected Attorney for this Board for the year 1929. 9 Chairman Albert 0. Helseth then assumed his duties as Chairman of the Board of County Commissioners. E. P. Ellington appeared before the Board and requested road heretofore gran known as Road G-1 be opened up. It was ordered that the Engineer be instructed to clear this road and build necessary bridge across the canal. County Judge Otis M. Cobb appeared before the Board respecting salary as Judge of Juvenile Court requesting a salary of $100.00 per month as such and the possibil9 of paying that amount .for the two years last past, to be paid out of the Fine & Forfeiture Fund, and after considerable discussion it was ordered this matter be carried over until the afternoon session. Deputy Sheriff bond of T. M. Himes in the sum of $19000.00 with C. G. Filhoit and F. F. Graves as sureties was approved. Deputy Sheriff bond of William Frick in the sun of $19000.00 with Nellie M.o Babb and William Atkin as sureties was approved. It was moved, seconded and carried that County Judge be paid a salary of $50. per month out of the Fine & Forfeiture Fund, effective January lst 192199 as Judge the Juvenile Court. 1 It was moved, seconded and carried that the County Judge be paid the sum of $50.00 per year as Judge of Juvenile Court for the years 1927 and 1928. Crosby Cog 3720' Be Bendicon ` 1 1 1 1 1 1 F� 201 SEAS there is not a sufficient amount of -revenue on hand in the General Revenue Fund to meet the ctwrent and necessary expenses of the County to be paid from said Fund, and WBERE®S the Time Warrant Fund has a large surplus of cash on hand at this gime, over and above all necessary amounts to be paid from said fund; FORE be it resolved that the sum of $5j 201.03 be transferred from the Time Warrant Fund to the General Revenue. Fund, on approval only of the State Comp Upon being put to a vote the foregoing resolution was unanimously adopted. It was ordered that Eli C Walker be permitted to drain water in ditch on the North side of the South Gifford road towards the Indian. River. The several bills and accounts against the County, having been audited, were examined, and found to be correct were ordered -paid. The bills and accounts being on file in the Clerk's office and made a part of these minutes. The several warrants issued against the respective funds being listed in the County Finance record in full, and as such are made a part of these minutes as fully and ocmpletely as if the said warrants were set out in detail in these minutes, and reference to said County Finance record and the list so made for the respective funds are made a part hereof. The several County Depositories filed their monthly statement showing balance, receipts and disbursements for the month of January 1929, and showing balance at the close of the month, all of which having been audited and check were found tonbe correct. There being no farther business on motion made, seconded and carried the Hoard then adjourned until the regular meeting to be held in March 1329. ON,/% ' 1 ��
