Factors That Have Caused Food
Bank 's Financial Strain
• Increased Need for Food Assistance
• Reduced contributions due to economic downturns and Government
budget cutbacks (FEMA -EFSP, TEFAP, local municipalities)
• Reduced contributions from private sector due to increased number of
charitable requests
• Rising Fuel Costs
• Reduction in Donated Food Sources
-food industry efficiencies reduce surplus
-more food items sold on secondary market W

., .F„u .. ` - Statement of Commitment
and Thanks
• Food Banks often provide emergency food and supplies as " first
responders ” because emergency food distribution is our daily
business ! Its what we do best !
• TCFB is committed to the long term recovery of emergency food
needs as our region 's population increases and economic downturns
create greater need for food assistance
• Treasure Coast Food Bank's Corporate/Community Partner's help us
move the food to the people who need it !
