HomeMy WebLinkAbout12/2/1966FRIDAY, DECEMBER 2, 1966 The Board of County Commissioners of Indian River County`met in Special Session on Friday, December 2, 1966, at 8:30 o°clock.A. M., Present were Robert W. Graves, Chairman, D. B. McCullers, Vice -Chairman; Jerre J.' Haffield and Dr. B. Q. Waddell. Absent was Donald Macdonald. Also present were John H. Sutherland, County Attorney and Alfred H. Webber and Ruth Elliott Deputy Clerks. Upon testimony that the Deputy Clerk has personally talked to the Comptroller's Office concerning the certification of the millages of the Board of Public Instruction and the Health Unit, and that letters from the Comptrollers office are forthcoming, Commissioner Waddell moved that the following Resolution be adopted, seconded by Commissioner McCullers and unanimously carried. WHEREAS, all acts having been performed and all proceedings had as required by law preliminary to the levy of taxes:in.Indian River County, Florida, for the year 19668. and. Estimates having been made by the BOARD OF PUBLIC INSTRUCTION of Indian River County, Florida, and a certified copy of the Resolution filed with the Board as required by law and aa estimated by,said Board of Public Instruction, it is determined and hereby declared that a tax Thousandths (3.354) o rate of Three and Three .Hundred.Fifty-:four / of a mill®-- upon the dollar be levied, and is hereby imposed on all property in the. Estimates having been made by the Board of Public Instruction for TAX SCHOOL DISTRICT NO.1 and a certified copy of said Resolution having been filed with this Board as required by law, and as estimated by said Board, being the rate of millage voted, it is determined and hereby declared that a tax rate of Four & Nine Hundred Eight .(4.900)millr upon -the dollar be levied and is°hereby fixed 'and assessed for the year'. 1966 on all property taxable for such purpose as provided by law in said District comprising*all of Indian River County. Resolution filed with this Board as required !by law, it is determined and hereby declared that a tax rate of One and'Two Hundredths (102) milli upon the dollar be levied and is hereby fixed and assessed for the year 1966 on all property in said District, the same being all.of the property in Indian River County; for the purpose of paying interest upon•and providing a Sinking Fund for bonds of said District as followss Four hundred and Twenty-five Thousandthd ( .425) of a. mill `for hOnde ''dated Apri1T 11956 0 Five Hundred and Ninety-five Thousandths (.595) of a mill for bonds dated April 1,-1963. 7. Estimates having been made by the Board of Trustees of the INDIAN. RIVER COUNTY HOSPITAL DISTRICTS and a certified copy of.the .Resolution thereof filed with this Board as required by law, it is determined and hereby. declared that a tax rate of;Otie._.Hundred and Sixty -Seven Thousandths mills ( .1674 upon the dollar be levied and is hereby fixed and assessed' for the year 1966 on all the property in Indian River County for the, purpose of paying interest upon and providing a Sinking Fund for bonds of said District dated August 1, 1959. • 8. Estimates having been made by the Board of'Trustees of the INDIAN RIVER COUNTY HOSPITAL DISTRICT, and a certified,copy of the Resolution thereof filed with this Board as required by law, it'i determined and hereby declared that a tax. rate of One and Seven •r Hundred .and Seventy-eight.Thousandths (1.77.8)' mills upon the dollar be levied and is hereby fixed and assessed, for the year 1966 on all of the property in said District, the same being as set forth in Chapter 61-2275, Acts of the 1961 Florida Legislature,for the purpose of paying current expenses, incidental and necessary for the operation, maintenance and expense of the public hospital of the County.
