Home My WebLink About2006-207 (y7p D WORK ORDER NUMBER V1 7 a v Co — a07 ALTERNATE DESIGN TO THE EXISTING VORTEX TREATMENT SYSTEM DESIGN FOR THE NORTH , MAIN , AND SOUTH RELIEF CANALS This Work Order Number V1 is entered into as of this 13th day of June 2006 , pursuant to that certain Continuing Contract Agreement for Professional Services entered into as of March 15 , 2005 ("Agreement') , by and between Indian River County, a political subdivision of the State of Florida ("COUNTY") and Malcolm Pirnie , Inc . ("CONSULTANT") . The COUNTY has selected the CONSULTANT to perform the professional services set forth on Attachment 1 , attached to this Work Order and made part hereof by this reference . The professional services will be performed by the CONSULTANT for the fee schedule set forth in Attachment 2 , attached to this Work Order and made a part hereof by this reference . The CONSULTANT will perform the professional services within the timeframe more particularly set forth in Attachment 3 , attached to this Work Order and made a part hereof by this reference , all in accordance with the terms and provisions set forth in the Agreement. Pursuant to paragraph 1 . 4 of the Agreement , nothing contained in any Work Order shall conflict with the terms of the Agreement and the terms of the Agreement shall be deemed to be incorporated in each individual Work Order as if fully set forth herein . Baird ; County Administrator pp ed to foLm-,andJagal suffici cy: ria Fell , Assista t County ttorney ATTACHMENT 1 to WORK ORDER NO, 111 ALTERNATE DESIGN TO THE EXISTING VORTEX TREATMENT SYSTEM DESIGN FOR THE NORTH , MAIN , AND SOUTH RELIEF CANALS 1 , SCOPE OF WORK The CONSULTANT shall provide certain engineering and AutoCAD drafting services as necessary for COUNTY staff to prepare an alternate design to the existing vortex treatment system design for the North , Main , and South Relief Canals . (CONSULTANT is already familiar with said vortex treatment system design , having assisted the COUNTY with its review of the vortex treatment system construction drawings and technical specifications . ) 1 . 1 Activities A . Provide professional structural and electrical engineering design services , including technical specifications , bid quantities , and opinion of probable construction cost for the electrical and structural systems . Said Work will be competitively bid as an alternate design to the original vortex treatment system design . ( Both designs may be included the same bid package . ) B . Provide AutoCAD drafting services (AutoCAD release 2005 or later) . The COUNTY will prepare certain redlined construction drawings for the alternate design and it will send these to the CONSULTANT who will transfer the COUNTY design to AutoCAD drawings . C . Provide quality control review services for all of the construction drawings and technical specifications prepared for the alternate design . Said reviews shall occur at 60 percent and 90 percent completion . Comments shall be written on the plans and technical specifications and discussions shall be via conference telephone calls . 2 . DELIVERABLES 2 . 1 60 Percent Design A . The CONSULTANT will submit one set of drawings to the COUNTY for review at the 60 percent completion level . If required by the COUNTY , the CONSULTANT will meet with the COUNTY to discuss the submittals and subsequently revise the drawings per the COUNTY' s comments . B . The 60 percent level of completion submittal will include a complete set of structural and electrical drawings indicating all pertinent features of the alternate design together with applicable construction details . C . The CONSULTANT will submit one set of technical specifications at the 60 percent completion levels . The 60 percent submittal will include a table of contents and a preliminary draft of all the required technical specification sections . 2. 2 90 Percent Design The 90 percent level of completion is defined as the incorporation of all COUNTY comments received and verified after the 60 percent review with the COUNTY . The drawings will be at a level of completion that will allow the project to be bid . The CONSULTANT will submit one set of technical specifications and drawings at the 90 percent completion level . If requested by the COUNTY , the CONSULTANT will meet with the COUNTY to discuss the submittal and subsequently revise the drawings per the COUNTY' s comments . 2. 3 100 Percent Design At the 100 percent submittal , two sets of the drawings will be submitted together with an electronic copy using AutoCADTm Release 2005 or later format . The 100 percent submittal will also include bid schedule , table of contents , and technical specifications in electronic Microsoft WordTM format . The CONSULTANT will prepare and submit an Engineer's Opinion of Probable Construction Cost for the project at the 100 percent design level . 2 .4 Conformed Sets Conformed sets - After the project is bid but before the COUNTY awards the construction contract , provide five signed and sealed copies of the conformed structural and electrical contract drawings and five signed and sealed sets of the conformed technical specifications . 3. 0 BIDDING ASSISTANCE AND CONSTRUCTION SERVICES The CONSULTANT will provide bidding assistance (including pre- bid conference) and construction services at an hourly rate as requested in writing by the COUNTY . " END OF ATTACHMENT 1 " ATTACHMENT 2 to WORK ORDER NO, V1 ALTERNATE DESIGN TO THE EXISTING VORTEX TREATMENT SYSTEM DESIGN FOR THE NORTH , MAIN , AND SOUTH RELIEF CANALS 1 . COMPENSATION The COUNTY agrees to pay and the CONSULTANT agrees to accept , a not-to-exceed fee of $83 ,955 for services rendered according to Attachment 1 of this WORK ORDER . Hourly rates for AutoCAD services shall be as set forth in the Agreement . 2 , PARTIAL PAYMENTS The COUNTY shall make monthly partial payments to the CONSULTANT for all authorized work pertaining directly to this project performed during the previous calendar month . The CONSULTANT shall submit invoices monthly for services performed and expenses incurred pursuant to this Agreement during the prior month . The CONSULTANT shall submit duly certified invoices in duplicate to the Director of the Public Works Department . For lump sum line items , the amount submitted shall be the prorated amount due for all work performed to date under this phase , determined by applying the percentage of the work completed as certified by the CONSULTANT , to the total due for this phase of the work. For time and material line items , the amount submitted shall be based on the actual hours worked and expenses incurred for the billing period . The amount of the partial payment due the CONSULTANT for the work performed to date under these phases shall be an amount calculated in accordance with the previous paragraph , less ten percent ( 10%) of the invoice amount thus determined , which shall be withheld by the COUNTY as retainage , and less previous payments . Per F . S . 218 . 74 (2 ) , the COUNTY will pay approved invoices on or before the forty-fifth day after the COUNTY receives the CONSULTANT's invoice . Per F . S . 218 . 74(2 ) , the ten percent ( 10%) retainage withheld shall be paid in full to the CONSULTANT by the COUNTY , on or before the forty-fifth day after the date of final acceptance of the Work by the Public Works Director. ** END OF ATTACHMENT 2** ATTACHMENT 3 to WORK ORDER NO.
