HomeMy WebLinkAbout10/30/1967MONDAY, OCTOBER 30, 1967 The Board of County.Commissioners of Indian River County met in Special Session on Monday, October 30, 1967, at 8:30 A.M. at the Courthouse, Vero Beach, Florida. Present were Robert W. Graves, Chairman; D. B. McCullers, Jr; Vice -Chairman; Richard P. Bogosian and Jack U. Dritenbas. Absent was Donald MacDonald. Also present were County Attorney, Sherman N. Smith, Jr.; Tax Assessor, Homer H. Webber. C. Fletcher and Deputy Clerk, Alfred Mr. Homer C. Fletcher, Tax Assessor, presented the Tax Rolls for the year 1967 on Real and Personal Property and also on Intangible Personal Property Assessment Rolls, which were examined and found to be correct. He reported the following taxes extended on Real and Personal Property roll: County $ 896,937.23 Schools, Maintenance 2,349,701.59 Schools, Bonds 242,917.93 Florida State Board of Health , 55,857.37 Indian River Hospital, Maintenance 114,229.12 Hospital, Bonds 43,603.54 Sebastian Inlet District 27,628.79 Mosquito Control District 163,254.72 Central & Southern Florida Flood Control 82,223.81 Florida Inland Navigation District 18,478.61 Indian River Shores 5,886.99 Sebastian River Drainage District 13,011.25 St. John's River Drainage District 217,818.00 Indian River Farms Drainage District 92,186.50 Total $4,323,735.45 Intangible Personal Property Assessment Roll: Valuation Class A $46,489,688.00 Class B 139,920,327.00 Class D 4,628,385.00 Total , On Motion by Commissioner Dritenbas, I McCullers, the following Tax $ 4,648.96 139,921.42 4,628.27 149,198.65 w/penalties $646!_97 seconded by Commissioner Resolutionwas unanimously adopted: °CT it9 1967 soot RESOLUTION NO. 67- 6 7 WHEREAS, the County Assessor of Taxes has completed the assessment rolls of this county and the assessments have been reviewed and equalized; and, WHEREAS, the amount of taxes to be raised for the county and special tax school districts or other special tax purposes has been determined, calculated and carried out to constitute the total amount of county taxes setting opposite to the aggregate sum set down as the valuation of real and personal property and the Assessor has extended the same and added up the column of assessment of taxes contained in the assessment rolls and made recapitulato tables in the form prescribed by the Comptroller and made out two fair copies of the assessment roll so completed and has annexed to the original and each copy his affidavit stating that the assessment roll contains a true statement and description of all persons; and property in Indian River County, Florida, subject to taxation or liable to be assessed therein and the value thereof so far as they are made known by him are just and correct so far as he has been able to ascertain; and, WHEREAS, the County Assessor of Taxes has turned over the original and copies of the said tax assessment rolls to this board at this meeting where the members of this board did examine and compare the original and the two copies and after such examination have found no mistakes or in- accuracies in .description or of other character; Now, therefore, The Board of County Commissioners of Indian River County, Florida, resolves: That this board does find and determine that the original and copies of the tax assessment rolls are correct, which shall be further evi- denced by a certificate which shall be executed by at least three members of this board and the County Assessor of Taxes is directed to issue and annex to one of said books the warrants as provided by law and a copy of said warrants shall be recorded in the minutes of this board. 8001. 10 PAGE 499 our 9 0 1967 Smith, Heath, Smith & O'Haire, Attorneys At Law, Vero Beach, Florida Perm C-481 (1000111111nianglbl.
