time, and having been considered, each resolution separately, no action was ordered

The several bills and accounts against the County, were examined by the Board, and
approved, and warrants ordered issued in settlement of same. such bills and accounts
being on file in the office of the Clerk and which by reference thereto is made a part
of these minutes. The warrants so issued in settlement of such accounts, from.the
xe7ww various funds of the County being listed completely in the county Finance record
and &istributed according to law, and which said list so recorded, and the County Finanof
record itself, is made a part of these minutes as fully and completely as if the said
warrants so issued were set out herein in detail.
The County -Depositories filed their monthly statements of the various accounts of
the s everal funds, which having been checked over were found to be correct.
There being no further business the Board adjourned until the next regular meeting,
unless sooner called together by order of the Chairman.

The Board of County commissioners in and for Indian River county, Florida, met at
the Court House in Vero Beach, at 2 o'clock P.X.on Friday, June 21st 1929s with the
following members of the Board present: Albert 0. Helseth, Chairman; J. D. Yongue;
J. V1. laBruee; J. J. P. Hamilton and John H. Atkin. .Also present were Miles vrarren,Cle
and Clark S. Rice, Sheriff.
The Chairman announced the special meeting was called for the purpose of consid
the erection of a temporary jail and such other matters as may properly come before the
Bo ard.
The following resolution was received and read from Osceola County, Florida, Board
of County Commissioners, and the same vas ordered accepted in full:
RE -S O LU T I 0 N.
YMEM Osceola County, has heretofore made provision for the expense of
supporting and guarding while at work on the public roads, a larger number of prisoners
than is supplied at the present time from Osceola County, and
VMREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Indian River County desires
to hire out its prim ners to Osceola County t be worked upon the public roads, b ridges
and other public work in Osceola County, and
4MREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Indian River County has made the
following proposition to the Board of County Commissioners of Osceola County, to -wit:
That Indian River County will furnish all able bodied male convicts to
Osceola County for the sum of $1,00 per month for all prisoners serving 60 days or more..
Provided Osceola County pays transportation bothways on all prisoners used from Indian
River County, and
VMREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Osceola County .deems it for the
best interest of Osceola County to accept the proposition made by the Board of County
Commissioners of Indian River County, Provided Indians River County will refund to.
Oseedia, County, such transportation f ees as may be paid by Osceola County, on any convi
who is released before the expiration of his 60 days sentence.

J. He Leversedge representing Pauly Jail Building Company appeared before the
Board in response to a letter requesting the presence of a representative of the Compaby
and gent into the question of a Jail, and/or jail facilities.
After considerable discussion and consideration, and after viewing several build-
ings, it was deemed advisable and ordered that the Clerk advertise for bids on cages
of sufficient size to hold 20 prisoners and if necessary receive bids for the constru-
ction of a temporary building to house such cages. The following advertisements were
prepared and inserted in the news -paper as provided by law.

NOTICE is' hereby given that .the
Board of ty Commissioners of In-
dian River,: nty, Florida, will on Tues-
day, July 1929, at 2:00 o'clock P.
M. receive aled bids' for the erection
of a tempo ary jail building or struc-
ture to house the following amount of
jail cell work and equipment:
One cage 1¢ feet wide 21 feet long.
One cage 14 feet wide 14 feet long
One cage 6 feet 6 inches wide, 12
feet long
This building shall be built as follows:

be of concrete and provision shall be
made in the building for. a cook room
not less than 14 feet square.
The small cage, bila feet by 12 feet

The successful bidder must figure to
install and connect to available sewer-
age plumbing fixtures as follows: Four

The bond of Herbert D. Cockrell, as Deputy 'sheriff, in the sum of 01,000.00 with
American Surety Company, a corporation as surety was approved.
As provided by law the Board proceeded to designate the County Depositories for the
year beginning July 1, 1929, and ending June 30th 1930. Applications having been
received from the Farmers Bank of Vero Beach and the Indian River County Bank of
Sebastian, same were duly considered.
It was ordered that the following designations be made for the ensuing years
