The Board of County Commissioners of Indian River County, Florida, met in special session at the Courthouse, Vero Beach, Florida, on Thursday, August, 29, 1968 at 4:00 o'clock P.M. Present were Jack U. Dritenbas, Chairman; D.B.McCullers, Jr., Vice Chairman; Robert W. Graves and Richard P. Bogosian. Absent was Donald Macdonald. Also present. were Jack G. Jennings, County Administrator and Alfred H. Webber, Deputy Clerk. Absent was Sherman N. Smith, Jr., County Attorney. 0 Mrs. Rosemary Richey,, Supervisor of Elections, appeared be- fore the Board and stated that it would appear advisable to change the polling place in Precinct 4-B because of increasing traffic problems at the present location. She presented a letter from General Development Corp. signed by Knox K. Kelley granting the County permission to use the Recreation Hall at Vero Highlands Subdivision as a polling place. On motion by Commissioner Bogosian, seconded by Commissioner Graves, the following Resolution was unanimously adopted: RESOLUTION NO. 68 - 51 BE..IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of Indian River County, Florida, acting upon the recommendationo and:approval'or the Supervisor.of Elections of that county, that the prior resolutions of.this Board establishing each election precinct, district and polling place in this county are herewith amended in order that the polling places shall hereafter be at the place hereinafter stated for each of the precincts hereinafter named, to -wit: Election Precinct 4-B. Polling. Place: Recreation Hall, Vero Highlands Subdi- vision. and, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the polling places for all other election precincts shall remain as heretofore designated and all election precincts shall remain as herein- before designated. Eva 11 f� �� 3`18 puG • ; ,13.-4,v,q341.141 • • • • The Deputy Clerk reported that the Sheriff wished to inform the Board that new heavy duty screens were needed on the jail building for additional security, and that he had received two quotations, as follows: DiPietro Iron Works Arnold Helseth $405.00 $285.00 On motion by Commissioner Graves, seconded by Commissioner Bogosian, and unanimously carried, the Sheriff was authorized to purchase the necessary screens from Arnold Helseth at a cost not to exceed $285.00, and also to purchase the necessary paint and hardware to complete the installation of the screens. There being no further business, on motion by Commissioner - Graves, seconded by Commissioner McCullers, and unanimously. carried, the Board adjourned at 4:15 o'clock P.M.
