Dear Mr. Henley : Please accept this request for modification number one for the above referenced Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Agreement between Indian River County and the Florida Department of Community Affairs (DCA) . This request for modification is for a six month time extension, a revision to the CDBG Agreement Work Plan, a revision to the Program Budget and Scope of Work and a revision in the Number of Accomplishments and Beneficiaries . As of the beginning of March 2010 , construction activities were fifty percent complete , and the County had expended $ 67 , 867 . 50 and encumbered over $ 70, 000 . 00 on the project . This is slightly less progress than the County had previously anticipated for the project . The principal reason for the delay in the project ' s progress is that significantly more applicants are being assisted by funding from this project than had been anticipated . While the goal of the project was to assist 6 households , the actual number of households assisted will . be over 30 . A TRUE COPY E: R I , FICATION ON LAST PAGE J . K . BARTON , CLERK Although the County believes that the project will be completed by the June 26 , 2010 contract deadline, the County feels that it is responsible to ask for a six month extension in advance of the forty-five day notice requirement for time extensions . While the extension may not be needed, the County wants to avoid having to request a reinstatement of the grant should there be any additional unforeseen delays .
