HomeMy WebLinkAbout12/27/1968FRIDAY, DECEMBER 27, 1968 The Board of County Commissioners of Indian River County, Florida met in special session at the Courthouse, Vero Beach on Friday, December 27 at 2:00 o'clock P. M. Present were Jack U. Dritenbas, Chairman, Donald Macdonald and Richard P. Bogosian. Also present were Jack G. Jennings, County Administrator; Sherman N. Smith, Jr., County Attorney and Alfred H. Webber, Deputy Clerk. The Chairman called the meeting to order and upon a Motion made by Commissioner Macdonald, seconded by Commissioner Bogosian, the following Resolution was unanimously adopted: RESOLUTION NO. 68- 77 The Board of County Commissioners of Indian River County, Florida, resolves: 1. That this Board does herewith endorse, approve and urge the speedy consummation of the plan of the Florida Outdoor Recreational Development Council or other state agency for the acquisition of land for a public park to be established in this county in the area between the Atlantic Ocean and the Indian River and South of the Sebastian Inlet. This Board is of the view that this large area, substantially undeveloped with a long stretch of fine beach along the Atlantic Ocean and a long area bordering on the Indian River, is ideally suited for a public park and that it would be of great benefit not only to the citizens of this county but also to the entire State of Florida. 2. Be it further resolved that certified copies of this Resolution be forwarded to Florida Outdoor Recreational Development Council, the Governor and the Members of the Cabinet of the State of Florida.
