The Board of County Commissioners of Indian River County,
Florida met in special session as the Board of Equalization, at
the Courthouse, Vero Beach, Florida on Monday, August 11, 1969,
at 8:30 o'clock A. M. Present were Richard P. Bogosian, acting
Chairman; Alma Lee Loy and Edward J. Massey. Absent were Jack
U. Dritenbas, Chairman; and D. B. McCullers, Jr. Also present
were Jack G. Jennings, County Administrator; Sherman N. Smith, -'Jr.,
County Attorney; and Alfred H. Webber and Janet N. Turpan, Deputy
Clerks. Absent was Homer C. Fletcher, County Tax Assessor.
The Chairman called the meeting to order, and the hour of
8:30 o'clock having passed, the Clerk read the following notice
with proof of publication attached to -wit:

Vero Beach, in said Indian River County, and that the said newspaper has heretofore
been continuously published in said Indian River County, Florida, weekly and has been entered
as second class mail matter at the post office in Vero Beach, in said Indian River County, Florida
for a period of one year next preceeding the first publication of the attached copy of adver-
tisement; and affiant further says that he has. neither paid nor promised any person, firm or
corporation any discount, rebate, commission or refund for the purpose of securing this adver-
tisement for publication in the said newspaper.

NOTICE
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN
that the Tax Assessor of Indian
River County, Florida, -did meet
with the Board of County Commis-
sioners of• Indian River County,
Florida, on July 23, 1969, for the
purpose of hearing complaints and
receiving testimony as to the value
of any property, real or personal,
as fixed by said assessor and of
Perfecting, reviewing and equaliz-
ing the assessment rolls of
said county for the year
1969. At that time, said Board did
deem it necessary to and did ex-
tend the time for The completion of
such assessment rolls to 1\Iond?y,
August 11, 1969, at the hour of 8:30
o'clock A. i\L, to v.hieh the first
meeting was adjourned, at which

River County Courthouse, Vero
Beach, Florida, to meet with the
County Tax Assessor for the afore-

The Chairman reported that the tax rolls have been completed
and are in order but that they have not yet been approved by the
Comptroller. On.a Motion made by Commissioner Loy, seconded by
Commissioner Massey and unanimously carried, the Meeting of the Board
of Equalization was.adjourned until Wednesday,August 1,3 at 8:30 A. M.
The Board then adjourned as Board of Equalization and reconvened
as Board of County Commissioners.
The tax rolls not having been accepted, a Motion was made by
Commissioner Loy, seconded by Commissioner Massey and unanimously
carried that the Budget Meeting be adjourned until Wednesday, August
1'3 at 8:30 o'clock A. M.
Fred Prestin, Civil Defense Director, reported to the Board
that the Radio Bids received on Wednesday, August 6, had been
evaluated and that it was his recommendation that the bids were
excessive in price, and he requested that the radio be re -advertised.
On a Motion made by Commissioner Massey, seconded by Commissioner
Loy, it was unanimously carried that the bids submitted for the
Radio for the Civil Defense Department on August 6 were excessive
in price and authorization was given for readvertisement.
On a Motion made by Commissioner Loy, seconded by Commissioner
Massey, the following Item to Item Transfer was unanimously approved:

There being no further business, on Motion made seconded and
