HomeMy WebLinkAbout5/24/1971MONDAY, MAY 24, 1971 The Board of County Commissioner of Indian River County, Florida met in special session at the Courthouse, Vero Beach, Florida on Monday, May 24, 1971 at 7:30 o'clock P. M. Present were Richard P. Bogosian, Chairman; Alma Lee Loy, Vice Chairman; D. B. McCullers, Jr.; Jack U. Dritenbas and Edward J. Massey. Also present were Jack G. Jennings, County Administrator; Paul D. Burch, Attorney to the Board of County Commissioners; Valentyne E. Brennan, City -County Planning Director; Thomas J. Leonard, Jr., Planning Aide; Dewey Walker, County Zoning Inspector; Lilias E. Mier, Zoning Secretary; and Janet N. Turpan, Deputy Clerk. I j Also present were Ralph Sexton, Chairman; Lloyd Harrison, Attorney; and James Ayers, Members of the Indian River County Zoning Commission. The Chairman called the meeting to order and announced that this meeting is a continuation of the Public Hearing of the meeting of May 17, 1971. Pages 24 through 36 of the proposed Indian River Zoning Ordinance were taken in review. Suggestions were made by Rivers Anderson, Milton Link, Larry Finegan and others k q concerning mobile.home zoning: _ Robert Wall appeared in regard to zoning on service stations. Arthur Friend, Chairman of the Vero Beach Association, John Morrison;Roy D. Chapin III; Milton Link; William B. Robinson, speaking for 45% of the residents of Bonita Beach; and others appeared in opposition to Planned Unit Development. Charles Herring, John J. Schlitt, Jr. and Members of the Zoning Board spoke in favor of Planned Unit Development. Charles Sullivan requested he might be able to make suggestions by letter.
