The Board of County Commissioners in and for Indian river County, Florida, met at
the Court House in Vero Beach, Florida, at 10 o'clock A.M.Tuesday, November 19th 19299
with the following members of the Board present: Albert O.Helseth, Chairman; J.D.Yongue
J.'.1aBruce; J.J.P.Hamilton and John H.Atkin. Also present were Miles Warren, Clerk
and Clark S. Rice, Sheriff.
The bond of Geo. T. Badger, in the sum of §500.00 as Justice of the Peace District
No. 1 with Pairs Ida Badger, widow and B.q.Waddell as sureties was approved.
The Notary bond of L.A.Pffoeller, in the sum of 0500.00 with American Surety Company,
as surety
a corporations of New Yo rk/was approved.
C.P.Olmstead appeared requesting work on Road G.7 so farmers can get out thdir
produce. It was ordered this road be put in condition.
It was ordered the County Engineer look over roads South of Lateral "B" and such
roads as will be used to move crops be put in condition for such use.
Chas. Farris appeared before the Board requesting rent of catipiller Tractor for
private work. It was ordered the County Engineer be authorized to do this work at such
times as it will not interfere with County work.

On motion made, seconded and unanimously carried it was ordered that County offi-
cials place public funds coming in their hands in
the Indian giver County Bank at
Sebastian and the Fanners. Bank of Vero Beach, regularly designated depositories, and
that security be taken for the same.

ember 19299 with instructions to view and mark out the best route for a public road,
described in the petition as follows, to -wit: A tract of land commencing at a point whe
Road No. 12 (located in Fellsmere Farms Company's Subdivision of Twp. 31 Range 37)
intersects Tracts 1334 and 1335, running North from this point to a point where Road 7
intersects Tracts 834 and 835. There is a road right-of-way oven this route at pre-
sent, fence lines having been established allowing for this road and considerable
traffic now passes over the South portion of it, this road right-of-way having been
allowed by the property owners to the extent of thirty feet in width, some ten or
twelve
years ago, said

ing of the proposed road, beg leave to' report to your honors as follows: That we,after
having subscribed to the oath required by law before entering on our duties make this

road upon the eighteenth day of November 1929, and viewed and marked out the following
as the best route for said proposed road. (Said road is to be Fifty feet wide) .
Beginning at the 'South-east corner of the Tract 1259 of the Fellsmere Farms
Company's `Subdivision as recorded on pages 1 and 2 of Plat Book 2 of the public records
of St. lu cie County, Florida; thence North to the North-east corner of Tract 834,
Fellsmere Farms Company's Subdivision. said right-of-way to be Fifty (50) feet in wi
twenty-five (25) feet on either side of the above described center line. Excepting
a that through Tracts 1258 and 959 the width of right-of-way shall be but Fifteen (15)

Therefore, having performed the duties required by law under the appointment of

The above report was accepted, ordered filed, and advertisement be given for a
period of 30 days, as required by law, and if no protest or objection is filed within
that time same will be declared a public County road.
The question of a jail site came before the Board, the Ci rg Council of the City
of Vero Beach, together with the Mayor met with and Board and discussed the preposition.
The City Council offered a site at the Horth -east corner of the City hall building,and
same was taken under consideration.
On motion made by Commissioner Hamilton, seconded by Commissioner Yongue that the
attorney for this Board be authorized to take in behalf of the County -an appeal to the
Supreme Court of Florida from the order and judgment of the Circuit Court in the man-
damus case, involving permit for jail building. On vote being taken those in favor

consider the matter of valuation of security held by the Board against the Vero Beach

Bank & Trust Co. It was ordered this matter be taken up at the first meeting day in

to the jail contract.
The bill for labor on roads having been presented, was examined and found correct
same was approved and warrants ordered issued from the Road & Bridge fund in settle-
ment of same. The warrants so issued being listed completely in the County Finance
Record as provided by law, and reference to said County Finance record is made a part
of these minutes as fully and completely as if the said warrants were set out herein
in detail.
There being no further business- on motion made, seconded and carried the Board
then adjourned until the regular meeting in December 1929.
