AN ORDINANCE OF INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA,
AMENDING THE CODE OF INDIAN RIVER COUNTY;
DELETING A PROVISION THAT A COUNTY
COMMISSIONER WHO SERVES AS A MEMBER OF A
COMMISSION OR BOARD CHAIRS SUCH COMMISSION
OR BOARD; PROVIDING THAT EACH COMMISSION AND
BOARD SHALL ELECT FROM AMONG ITS VOTING
MEMBERS A CHAIRMAN AND A VICE-CHAIRMAN;
PROVIDING THAT, EXCEPT AS OTHERWISE PROVIDED
BY STATE OR FEDERAL, LAW, A COUNTY
COMMISSIONER APPOINTED ASA REPRESENTATIVE OF
THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS TO A
COMMISSION OR BOARD SHALL BE THE BOARD'S NON=
VOTING LIAISON TO SUCH COMMISSION OR BOARD;
AND PROVIDING FOR TREATMENT OF CONFLICTING
PROVISIONS, SEVERABILITY, CODIFICATION, AND AN
EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, by Ordinance No. 90-20, codified in Chapter 103, The Code of Indian
River County, the Board of County Commissioners adopted procedural rules for various
commissions and boards established by the Board of County Commissioners; and
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners wishes to amend certain of those
procedural rules,
Section 1. Election of Officers of Commissions and Boards
Paragraph 9 of Section 103.02, The Code of Indian River County, to wit: Paragraph
9 of Section 103.02 of Attachment "A" of Section 1 of Ordinance 90-20, which provides,

or board; otherwise, each commission and board shall elect a
chairman and a vice-chairman annually in the month of
January, or at its next meeting if no meeting is held in January.

remaining portions of this ordinance, which shall remain in full force and effect.
Section 5. Codification v
It is the intention of the Board of County Commissioners that the provisions of this
ordinance shall become and be made a part of The Code of Indian River County, and that
the sections of this ordinance may be renumbered or relettered, and the word "ordinance'
may be changed to "section," "article;" or such other,appropriate word or phrase in order
to accomplish such intention.
Section 6, Effective Date
This ordinance shall take effect upon its filing with the Florida Department of State.
This ordinance was advertised in the Vero Beach Press Journal on the 3rd day
of January , 2003, for a public hearing on the 14`h day of January, 2003, at
which time the public hearing was continued to March 11, 2003, at which time the
ordinance was moved for adoption by Commissioner Lowther , and seconded by
Commissioner Neuberger , and adopted by the following vote:
