RESOLUTION NO. 2005-076
A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS
OF INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING ANIMAL
CONTROL OFFICER GERALD DIXON TO ISSUE CITATIONS.
WHEREAS, Section 828.27, Florida Statutes (2004), authorizes County Animal Control
Officers to issue citations for acts in violation of animal control ordinances; and
WHEREAS, Section 828.27(4)(a), Florida Statutes (2004), requires County -employed Animal
Control Officers to successfully complete a 40 -hour minimum standards training course having a
curriculum approved by the Florida Animal Control Associations; and
WHEREAS, Animal Control Officer Gerald Dixon successfully completed the minimum
standards training course at St. Petersburg College on April 22, 2005;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS
OF INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA, that Animal Control Officer Gerald Dixon is hereby
authorized to issue animal control citations, pursuant to Section 828.27, Florida Statutes (2004), and
Chapter 302 of The Code of Indian River County, Florida.
The Resolution was moved by Commissioner Neuberger , and the motion was
seconded by Commissioner Davi s and, upon being put to a vote, the vote was as
follows:
Commissioner Thomas S. Lowther Aye
Commissioner Arthur R. Neuberger Aye
Commissioner Sandra L. Bowden Aye
Commissioner Wesley S. Davis Aye
Commissioner Gary C. Wheeler Ay
The Chairperson thereupon declared the resolution duly passed and adopted this 1 7th day
of May , 2005.
