HomeMy WebLinkAbout2003-068 fav A w J RESOLUTION NO. 2003-_a68 A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA, APPROVING THE TRANSMITTAL OF PROPOSED FUTURE LAND USE-MAP AMENDMENTS TO THE INDIAN RIVER COUNTY COMPREHENSIVE PLAN TO THE STATE OF FLORIDA DEPARTMENT OF COMMUNITY AFFAIRS. WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners adopted the Indian River County Comprehensive Plan on February 13, 1990, and WHEREAS,the county received comprehensive plan amendment applications during its January 2003 amendment submittal window, and WHEREAS, the Local Planning Agency held a public hearing on this comprehensive plan amendment request on May 8, 2003, after due public notice, and WHEREAS, the Local Planning Agency voted 6 to 0 to recommend that the Board of County Commissioners transmit the comprehensive plan amendments listed below to the Florida Department of Community Affairs; and WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Indian River County held a Transmittal Public Hearing on June 10, 2003, after advertising pursuant to F.S. 163.3184(15)(b)(1), and WHEREAS, The Board of County Commissioners announced at the transmittal public hearing its intention to hold and advertise a final public hearing at the adoption stage of the plan amendment process. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA THAT: 1. The above recitals are ratified in their entirety. 2. The following proposed amendments are approved for transmittal to the State of Florida Department of Community Affairs: 1 Al'TAGNMENT 8 { _ 9 RESOLUTION NO. 2003- o68 a. AN ORDINANCE OF INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA, AMENDING THE FUTURE LAND USE ELEMENT OF THE COMPREHENSIVE PLAN BY CHANGING THE LAND USE DESIGNATION FOR APPROXIMATELY±47 ACRES LOCATED AT THE NORTHWEST CORNER OF 41sT STREET(SOUTH GIFFORD ROAD), AND 43RD AVENUE, FROM M-2, MEDIUM-DENSITY RESIDENTIAL-2 (UP TO 10 UNITS/ACRE), TO PUB, PUBLIC; and b. AN ORDINANCE OF INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA, AMENDING THE FUTURE LAND USE ELEMENT OF THE COMPREHENSIVE PLAN BY CHANGING THE LAND USE DESIGNATION FOR 25.89 ACRES LOCATED SOUTH OF 41sT STREET (SOUTH GIFFORD ROAD), AND APPROXIMATELY 1000 FEET EAST OF 43RD AVENUE FROM C/I(COMMERCIAL/INDUSTRIAL),TO PUB, PUBLIC. 3. The county does not request that the Florida Department of Community Affairs review this comprehensive plan Future Land Use Map amendment. The forgoing Resolution was offered by Commissioner Gi nn and seconded by Commissioner Neuberger and upon being put to a vote,the vote was as follows: Chairman, Kenneth R. Macht Aye Vice-Chairman, Caroline D. Ginn Aye Commissioner, Fran B. Adams A Commissioner, Arthur R. Neuberger Aye Commissioner, Thomas S. Lowther Aye The Chairman thereupon declared the resolution duly passed and adopted at a public hearing held this 10th day of June 2003.
