A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF INDIAN RIVER
COUNTY, FLORIDA, APPROVING THE TRANSMITTAL OF A PROPOSED FUTURE LAND
USE MAP AMENDMENT TO THE INDIAN RIVER COUNTY COMPREHENSIVE PLAN TO
THE STATE OF FLORIDA DEPARTMENT OF COMMUNITY AFFAIRS.
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners adopted the Indian River County
Comprehensive Plan on February 13, 1990, and
WHEREAS, the county received comprehensive plan amendment applications during its January
2003 amendment submittal window, and
WHEREAS, the Local Planning Agency held a public hearing on this comprehensive plan
amendment request on May 8, 2003, after due public notice, and
WHEREAS, the Local Planning Agency voted 6 to 0 to recommend that the Board of County
Commissioners transmit the comprehensive plan amendment listed below to the Florida Department
of Community Affairs; and
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Indian River County held a Transmittal
Public Hearing on June 10, 2003, after advertising pursuant to F.S. 163.3184(15)(b)(1), and
WHEREAS, The Board of County Commissioners announced at the transmittal public hearing its
intention to hold and advertise a final public hearing at the adoption stage of the plan amendment
process.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS
OF INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA THAT:
1. The above recitals are ratified in their entirety.
2. The following proposed amendment is approved for transmittal to the State of Florida
Department of Community Affairs:

AN ORDINANCE OF INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA, AMENDING THE
FUTURE LAND USE ELEMENT OF THE COMPREHENSIVE PLAN BY CHANGING
THE LAND USE DESIGNATION FOR 14.1 ACRES, LOCATED AT THE SOUTHWEST
CORNER OF 53RD STREET AND INDIAN RIVER BOULEVARD FROM M-1, MEDIUM
DENSITY RESIDENTIAL -1 (UP TO 8 UNITS/ACRE), TO CII
(COMMERCIAL/INDUSTRIAL), AND FOR APPROXIMATELY 23.8 ACRES
LOCATED SOUTH OF GRAND HARBOR BOULEVARD AND WEST OF INDIAN
RIVER BOULEVARD FROM CII, COMMERCIAL/INDUSTRIAL TO M-1, MEDIUM
DENSITY RESIDENTIAL -1 (UP TO 8 UNITS/ACRE) AND APPROXIMATELY 4
ACRES AT THE SOUTHWEST CORNER OF GRAND HARBOR BOULEVARD AND
INDIAN RIVER BOULEVARD FROM M-1, MEDIUM DENSITY RESIDENTIAL -1 (UP
TO 8 UNITS/ACRE) TO C/I (COMMERCIAL/INDUSTRIAL)
3. The county does not request that the Florida Department of Community Affairs review
this amendment to the Future Land Use Map of the comprehensive plan.
The forgoing Resolution was offered by Commissioner Lowther and seconded by
Commissioner Adams and upon being put to a vote, the vote was as follows:
Chairman, Kenneth R. Macht Aye
Vice -Chairman, Caroline D. Ginn Aye
Commissioner, Fran B. Adams Aye
Commissioner, Arthur R. Neuberger Aye
Commissioner, Thomas S. Lowther Aye
The Chairman thereupon declared the resolution duly passed and adopted at a public hearing held
this 10th day of June 2003.
