TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 18th 1930.
The Board of County Commissioners in and for Indian River County, Florida, met at
the Court House in Vero Beach, at 10 o'clock A.M.Tuesday, February 18th 1930, -with the
following members of the Board present: Albert 0. Helseth, Chairman; J. D. Yongue;
J. J. P. Hamilton and John H. Atkin. Absent J. W. ZeBruce. Also present were Miles
Warren, Clerk and Clark S. Rioe, Sheriff.
The pay rolls for labor on the County roads being presented by the County
Engineer were approved, and warrants ordered issued against the toad & Bridge fund
in settlement of same.
E. G. Franks appeared before the Board regarding the apportionment of County
Insurance policies. It was agreed that the matter would be taken up before the
regular meeting to be held in March.
There being no further business on motion made, seconded and carried the Board
adjourned until the regular meeting to be held in March 1930.

the Court House in Vero Beach, at 10 o'clock A.M.Tuesday, March 3rd 1930, with the
following members of the Board present: Albert 0. Helseth, Chairman; J. D. Yongue;,
J. W. TaaBruce; J.J.P.Hamilton and John H. Atkin. Also present Caere Miles Warren,Clerk
and Clark S. Rice, Sheriff.

On account of the celebration of the opening of the Vero Beach .Airport, on motion
made, seconded and carried, the Board adjourned until tomorrow morning at 10 O'clock.

The Board of County Commissioners in and for Indian. River County, Florida, met at
the Court House in Vero Beach, on Wednesday, March 4th 1930 at 10 o'clock A.M.with the

following members of the Board present: Albert 0. Helseth, Chairman;
J. D. Yongue; J.J.P.Hamilton and John H. Atkin. Absent J. V. baBruce. Also present
were Miles Warren, Clerk and Clark S. Rice, Sheriff.
The minutes of the previous meetings were read and approved.
S. A. Braswell and Mrs Fred P. Park, of Sebastian, appeared before the Board res-
pecting
es-
pesting Fred P. Park, now in the County Jail at Fort Pierce, under sentence of the County
Court. It being brought to the attention of the Board that Park had been rejected by
the physician for Osceola County for road work.
On motion .of Commissioner Hamilton, seconded by Com'r. Yongue, it vas ordered that
Fred P. Park be returned to Indian River County to .serve the remainder of his sentence
in charge of the Sheriff of this County.
It being made to appear to the satisfaction of the Boatd that Pat Conklin serving
sentence in jail at Fort Pierce, which sentence was imposed by the County Court of this
County has been rejected for road work by the physician of Osceola County, it was
ordered that he be returned to Indian River County to complete his sentence under the
Jurisdiction of the Sheriff.

Ctrs. W. A. Simonson appeared before the Board respecting rent on property in which
machinery of Lawrence Construction Company is stored. After due consideration, on mot i
made, seconded and carried to Board refused to pay any rent on this property.
Chas. E. Berg appeared before the Board regarding the placing of County insurance
policies for the ensuing year.
The mothers' pension application of Mrs Elva J. Snell of Vero Beach was received
read, filed and accepted and ordered she be placed on the list to receive $25.00 per
month until further orders of the Board.
The sum of $139.60 was received from the County Engineer on account of sale of
culvert pipe to individuals. It was ordered placed in the Road and Bridge Fund of the
County.
John W.E.Wheeler, representing the Walter S. Buckingham Insurance .Agency appeared
before the Board, together with J. Douglass Baker, a member of the insurance Board of
Vero Beach respecting the placing of County insurance policies for the ensuing year. It
wqe ordered that the matter of insurance be taken up 'on Burch, 17th with a view of
re -valuations being placed on County machinery.
The Notary Public bond of P. B. Gallagher, in the sum of $500.00 with the American
Surety Company, a corporation of New York was approved.
County Agent W.E.EvansrWi filed his monthly report of activities as County Agri cul-
tural .fig a nt .
It was ordered thAt no closed season on fresh water fishing in Indian River County
be invoked, there being no fish in freshwaters in the County except in lakes and
artificial canals.
As provided by law the Confederate Pension list of the State of Florida, for this
County, was Oxamined and found. to be correct was approved and forwarded to the State
Board of Pensions.
There appearing to be an error in assessment of property described as sots 1 and 2
Eastview Company Subdivision for arrears for the years 1926--1927 and 1928, on the 1929"
tax roll, it
was ordered that the
taxes for these omitted years
be listed on the Tax
Collector's
report of errors and
insolvencies to be approved by
this Board.
Mr. J. W. LaBruce, County Commissioner, who was absent during the session appeared,
and requested that Alfred Gesirgt Fellsmere, be placed on the pauper list, he appearing t
the satisfaction of the County Commissioners and the County Nurse that he is in need of
assistance. It was ordered that is Mr. Gesing be placed on the pauper list to receive
the sun of $15.00 per month until further orders of this Board.
The several bills and accounts against the County, having been audited, were examine
and found to be correct and warrants ordered issued in settlement of same. The said bill
and accounts as approved being on file in the Clerk's office. The warrant so drawn,. in
settlement of the
accounts
against
the
various funds
being listed completely in the
Count
Finance Record as
provided
by law,
and
reference to
such County Finance record and
the
list so recorded is made a part of these minutes as fully and completely as if the said
warrants were set out herein in detail.
The County depositories filed their monthly statements, showing receipts and dis-
bursements for the month of February, which having been check were found to be correct.
There being no further business on motion made, seconded and carried, the Board
adjourned until Tuesday, March 18th at 10 o'clock A.M.
