A RESOLUTION OF INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA,
BY AND THROUGH ITS BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS
ADOPTING A CONTINUITY OF OPERATIONS PLAN FOR
INDIAN RIVER COUNTY
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners for Indian River County have
instructed staff to develop and maintain adequate plans to ensure that the county is
prepared to maintain the operation of its critical mission essential functions, or
implement a transfer of critical mission essential functions to alternate locations in the
event of emergencies and disastrous events resulting in long-term disruptions of normal
operations; and
WHEREAS, the Continuity of Operations (COOP) initiative is an internal program within
individual components of Indian River County providing policy and guidance across a
wide range of potential emergencies, including localized acts of nature, accidents, and
technological and/or attack -related emergencies; and
WHEREAS, a COOP plan ensures the continuation of essential functions during an
emergency or situation that may disrupt normal operations; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE 'BOARD OF COUNTY
COMMISSIONERS OF INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA, that the 2004 INDIAN
RIVER COUNTY CONTINUITY OF OPERATIONS (COOP) PLAN, is hereby adopted.
The resolution was moved for adoption by Commissioner Macht , and the
motion was seconded by Commissioner Neuberger , and, upon being
put to a vote, the vote was as follows:
