HomeMy WebLinkAbout2002-072 RESOLUTION NO. 2002- 072 A RESOLUTION OF INDIAN RIVER ED UPON IDA, ESTABLISHING THE TAX MILLAGE RATE TO BE LEVI ALL REAL AND PERSONAL TAXABLE PROPERTY IINDIAN FOR RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA, FOR FISCAL YEAR HE GENERAL FUND. WHEREAS, the Budget Officer of Indian River Countyr d County,and presented for he to the County Commission a tentative budget for the General Fund of Indian Re fiscal year commencing on the first day of October, 2002, and ending on the 30th day of September, 2003, addressing each of the funds therein fforward,by law, lncludand a'll e t mated expenditung all estimated pes, taxes to be levied, and balances expected to be brought reserves, and balances to be carried over at the end of the year; and WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissionersbudget as presented; and my held numerous public workshops to consider and amend the tentative 9 ll f the WHEREAS, the Board did prepare al of allstatement budgets, proposedlng taxamil�ages, thetbalanbes antd showing for each budget and for the to reserves, and the total of each major classification of the receipts and expenditures classified according to accounts prescribed by the appropriate state agencies; and a rolled back rate by WHEREAS, the proposed millage rate for the General Fund exceeds th 3.40%; and loners of Indian River County did hold a public WHEREAS, the Board of County Commiss hearing to review and adopt a tentative budget; and WHEREAS, the final budget hearing has been properly advertised and held in accordance with applicable Florida law, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OFrCOUNTY COMMISSIONERSp OF INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA, that this Board does he levy personal taxable property in Indian River County, Florida, for fiscal year 2002-2003 a tax of 3.8729 mills on the dollar for the purpose of funding the General Fund of Indian River County; be in the BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that tPubli i Records;age as adopted and thenein County)Budget officerOsh'ce all of the County Budget Officer and in the raiser for Indian River County, transmit forthwith a certified copy of this resolution to the Property App to the Tax Collector for Indian River County, and to the Department of Revenue of the State of Florida. and the motion The resolution was moved for adoption by and, upon'be ng put to a vote, the vote was as was seconded by Commissioner Mach�_� follows: Chairman Ruth M.
