A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY
COMMISSIONERS OF INDIAN RIVER COUNTY,
FLORIDA, ADDING AN ADDITIONAL MEMBER TO
THE LAND ACQUISITION ADVISORY COMMITTEE.
WHEREAS, the Land Acquisition Advisory Committee encourages the
acquisition of tracts of valuable native land, environmentally sensitive land, or lands
which have great recreational worth; and
WHEREAS, in 2004, the citizens of Indian River County approved a $50 million
bond referendum, to acquire additional parcels of valuable land including historic sites
and agricultural land; and
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners has decided that a person with
historical expertise would be a valuable addition to the Land Acquisition Advisory
Committee to provide input as to possible purchase of historical sites in Indian River
County; and
WHEREAS, by Resolution 90-104, the Board of County Commissioners created
the Land Acquisition Advisory Committee; and
WHEREAS, by Resolution 92-58, the Board of County Commissioners amended
Resolution 90-104 revising its membership; and
WHEREAS, by Resolution 2003-130, the Board of County Commissioners
reestablished and restructured the Land Acquisition Advisory Committee; and
WHEREAS, the Land Acquisition Guide of Indian River County dated October
18, 1994, recommends a committee consisting of seventeen (17) members.
WHEREAS, it is the will of the Board of County Commissioners to add an
additional member to the Land Acquisition Advisory Committee in light of the recently
approved bond referendum;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY . THE BOARD OF
COMMISSIONERS OF INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA, that:
1. ESTABLISHMENT.
The Land Acquisition Advisory Committee is hereby reestablished and restructured
only to the extent that one additional member is added to the Committee.

2. MEMBERSHIP.
The Land Acquisition Advisory Committee shall be composed of eighteen (18)
members. Committee members must be residents of Indian River County as
follows:
a. A representative of the City of Vero Beach City Council;
b. A representative of the City of Sebastian City Council;
C. A representative of City of Fellsmere City Council;
d. A representative of the Town of Indian River Shores Town Council;
e. A representative of the Town of Orchid Town Council;
f. A member of the Indian River Land Trust;
g. A member of the Sierra Club;
h. A member of the Pelican Island Audubon Society;
i. A member of the Vero Beach/Indian River County Board of Realtors;
j. A member of the Indian River County Chamber of Commerce or Council
of One Hundred;
k. A member of a Taxpayers' Association;
I. A member of a local civic association;
M. A member of the agriculture community;
n. A member of the development community.
o. A member from the Indian River County Mosquito Control Board.
P. Two members appointed by the Board of County Commissioners from
the community at-large.
q. A member of the Indian River Historical Society, the Indian River County
Historic Resource Advisory Committee or other local historical
organization.

The resolution was moved for adoption by Commissioner Davis and
the motion was seconded by Commissioner wheeler , and, upon being
put to a vote, the vote was as follows:
Chairman Thomas S. Lowther Aye,
Vice Chairman Arthur R. Neuberger Aye
Commissioner Wesley S. Davis Aye
Commissioner Gary C. Wheeler Aye
Commissioner Sandra L. Bowden Aye
The Chairman thereupon declared the resolution duly passed and adopted this
24th day of May , 2005.
