HomeMy WebLinkAbout2003-1551 Providing (First Reso.) 06-30-03/MJM/ktp RESOLUTION NO. 2003- 155 A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF INDIAN RIVER COUNTY FLORIDA PROVIDING PAVING AND DRAINAGE IMPROVEMENTS TO 41ST AVENUE BETWEEN 6TH STREET AND 8TH STREET IN CITRUS GARDENS SUBDIVISION, PROVIDING THE TOTAL ESTIMATED COST, METHOD OF PAYMENT OF ASSESSMENTS, NUMBER OF ANNUAL INSTALLMENTS AND LEGAL DESCRIPTION OF THE AREA SPECIFICALLY BENEFITTED. WHEREAS, the County Public Works Department has been petitioned for Road Paving and Drainage Improvement for 41ST AVENUE BETWEEN 6TH STREET AND 8TH STREET IN CITRUS GARDENS SUBDIVISION. WHEREAS, the construction of paving and drainage improvements by special assessment funding is authorized by Chapter 206, Section 206.01 through 206.09, Indian River County Code; and cost estimates and preliminary assessment rolls have been completed by the Public Works Department; and the total estimated cost of the proposed paving and drainage improvements is NINETY THOUSAND SIX HUNDRED FIVE DOLLARS AND THIRTY SEVEN CENTS ($90,605.37); WHEREAS, the special assessment provided hereunder shall, for any given record owner of property within the area specially benefited, be in an amount equal to that proportion of seventy-five percent (75%) of the total cost of the project ($67,954.03), plus a two percent (2%) collection fee ($1,359.08) for a total assessment of $69,313.11, which the number of front feet of property owned by the given owner bears to the total number of front feet of property within the areas specially benefited and twenty-five percent (25%) of the total cost of the project ($22,651.34) F:\Engineering\Petition Paving\9922 41st Avenue\9922 Resolution-Providing-mjm.doc 1 RESOLUTION NO. 2003- 155 will come from Petition Paving Account. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA, as follows: 1. The foregoing recitals are affirmed and ratified in their entirety. 2. A project providing for paving and drainage improvements to 41ST AVENUE BETWEEN 6TH STREET AND 8TH STREET IN CITRUS GARDENS SUBDIVISION; heretofore designated as Public Works Project No. 9922 is hereby approved subject to the terms outlined above and all applicable requirements of Chapter 206, et seq. Indian River County Code. 3. This Resolution shall be published by the Public Works Department one time in the Vero Beach Press Journal newspaper. The foregoing resolution was offered by Commissioner Adams who moved its adoption.
