The secretary of State of the Itate of Florida, having filed with this Board
the names of candidates for Otate offices on the Democratic Primary ballot for the
said election to be held Tuesday, June 3rd, 1930, it was ordered that the following
named persona be placed on the official ballot for the office designated:

It was further ordered that the ballots be prepared, and printed, and that ballot
boxes be placed in shape with all necessary papers, ballots, laws and documents and
by the Clerk delivered to the Sheriff to be transmitted to the various election
precincts of the County. ✓
There being no further business on motion made9 seconded and carried the Board
adjourned until Tuesday, May 20th 1930.

The Board of County Commissioners in and for Indian River County, Florida, met at
the CourtyHouse in Vero Beach, at 10 o'clock A.M.Tuesday, May 20th 19309 with the
following members of the Board presents Albert 0. Helseth, Chairman; J.D.Yongue; J.A.
IaBruce, J.J.P.Ham.ilton and John H. Atkin. also present were Files Warren, Clerk and
Clark S. Rice, Sheriff.
W.I.Fee and Mr. Baughman appeared before the Board regarding roads and ditches
west of Wabasso. On Motion made by Commissioner La0ruee, it was ordered that the County
and ditches
stand 1/2 of the expense of putting Baughman road/to the creek zAtk in proper shape,
to releive drainage ditches and put everything in the proper shape.
It was moved, seconded and carried that dump trucks be rented to W.F.Graves to haul
naterial from 77abasso to building site. It being understood Mr. Graves will notify the
County Engineer when and how many trucks needed. tient to be paid at usual price for
such work as set by the County Engineer.
It was agreed that L.-S.Barnard be given the privilege of removing old frame house
)ff Lot 10 Blk 5 Edgewood Addition which lot the County holds a mortgage. Commissioner
Tongue, opposed the proposition.
It was moved, seconded and carried that installation pipe through Lateral *A* road
train water in G-7 ditch does not exceed 15 inch in diameter which was specified by
Y.
F. Graves, as this �i ch cisposes into artificial ditch cut by Graves and associates.
iwas ordered at F.G.Fletc r be employed by the County at a salary of $175.00
)er month to supervise the construction of the Jail.
It was moved, seconded and carried that mortgage on Donn A Keffer house be turned
)ver to the Cbu�ty attorney for foreclosure.
It was ordered that the Clerk instruct J.M.Knight to file plat showing all streets

designated as represented when the five acre tract of land was accepted by the County f
Jail site, and also arrange to put in the sewerage as per his agreement to do so.
The pay roll for labor on ,the County roads having been presented by the County
Engineer was received and being checked. over found to be correct and was.approved and
warrants ordered issued in settlement of same-. The warrants so drawn from the Road and
Bridge Fund being listed completely in the County Finance Record as provided by law,
reference to said County Finance Record and the list so recorded being made a part of
the se't,minute,s,,ae fully and completely as if the said warrants were set out herein in
ddtai 1.
There being no further business on motion made, seconded and carried the Board
adjourned until the next regular meeting unless sooner called together by the Chairman.

TUESDAY, MAY 27th 19 30 .
The Board of County Commissioners in and for Indian River County, Florida, met at
the Court House in Vero Beach, at 10 o'clock A.M.Tuesday, May 27th 1930, with the
following: members of the Board present: Albert 0. Helseth, Chairman; J.D.Yongue, JX.
Ia.Bruee; J.J.P.Hamilton and John H. Atkin. Also present were Miles Warren, Clerk and
Clark 3. Rice, .Sheriff.
B.Id.Smith and W.M.Jones, candidates for Republican Bounty Executive Committeemen
from precincts #5 and #2, respectively having filed their letter of withdrawal=, it was
ordered their names be omitted from the official Republican Ballot, and W.A.Martin,
candidate for Republican County Executive Committeeman, Precinct #2 is hereby certified
as the nominee for that office, without opposition.
The Board proceeded to consider the matter of changes in the plans for the County
Jail soon to be constructed. After considerable discussion, it was ordered that the
following changes be made: Footing to be 12 inches instead of 8 inches.. Nall . of founda-
tion extended 12 inches below grade and 2 feet 7 inches above grade. Lull to be one
foot 2 inches thick instead of 1 foot4 inches. Residence part of jail to have wood
floor instead of concrete and wood. The Board requesting native heart pine 2 x'10
stringers.
There being no further business on motion made, seconded and carried, the Board
adjourned until the regular meeting in June 1930..
