A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF
INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA, TO ENTER INTO AN URBAN AND
COMMUNITY FORESTRY GRANT MEMORANDUM OF AGREEMENT
WITH THE STATE OF FLORIDA, DEPARTMENT OF AGRICULTURE AND
CONSUMER SERVICES, DIVISION OF FORESTRY FOR TREE
REPLACEMENT AT THE HARMONY OAKS CONSERVATION AREA
WHEREAS, conservation of native trees is important to the citizens of Indian River County; and
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners desires to apply for an Urban and Community
Forestry Grant which would provide monies in which to help fund the Harmony Oaks Mitigation
Tree Replacement Project; and
WHEREAS, Indian River County Board of County Commissioners wishes to enter into an Urban
and Community Forestry Grant Memorandum of Agreement between Indian River County,
Florida and the Florida Department of Agriculture and consumer Services;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY
COMMISSIONERS OF INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA, THAT:
Section 1. The Board of County Commissioners supports the Harmony Oaks Mitigation Tree
Replacement Project.
Section 2. The Board of County Commissioners authorizes the County Administrator to
enter into an Urban and Community Forestry Grant Memorandum of Agreement between Indian
River County, Florida and Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services.
The resolution-was moved for adoption by Commissioner Davi s and the
motion was seconded by Commissioner Neuberger and, upon being put to a vote,
the vote was as follows:
Chairman Thomas S. Lowther Aye
Vice Chairman Arthur Neuberger Aye
Commissioner Sandra L. Bowden Aye
Commissioner Wesley S. Davis Aye
Commissioner Gray C. Wheeler Aye
The Chairman thereupon declared the resolution duly passed and adopted this 21 st day
of June 2005.
