misslahers and will meet in the County Commissioners Room. Indian River County Caurthouse.
Veto Beach. Florida, at 4:01 P.M. on Monday, September 19, 1977, for the .purpose of hearing
ragouts and complaints from the public regarding Said proposed budget. The millage rate b
-1311. Based upon population, distribution, the M1114,90 will produce W.739 in the incorporated
area and669,067 in the unincorpelated area of the county.

THE FINANCE OFFICER NOTEDTHAT LAST YEAR THE MILLAGE RATE WAS
COMMISSIONER LOY ASKED DR. FLOOD IF HE HAS RECEIVED ANY FINAL=
IZED FIGURES FROM THE STATE AT THIS TIME.
DR, FLOOD INFORMED THE BOARD THAT THE STATE STILL HAS NOT GIVEN
HIM A DEFINITE FIGURE ON WHAT THEIR CONTRIBUTION WILL BE, AND THAT IS THE
FIGURE THE BOARD WILL HAVE TO.MATCH, HE CONTINUED THAT HE HAS ASKED FOR
A SPECIAL MEETING IN PALM BEACH WEDNESDAY WITH REPRESENTATIVES FROM TALLA-
HASSEE TO SEE IF HE CAN GET SOME DEFINITE INFORMATION. HE NOTED THAT HE
MAY HAVE TO COME IN ON THE SECOND PUBLIC HEARING AND MODIFY HIS REQUEST,
BUT FEELS HE IS PRETTY MUCH IN THE BALLPARK WITH THE FIGURES SET OUT.
ATTORNEY COLLINS ASKED DR. FLOOD IF HE WISHED THE BOARD TO
WITHHOLD TAKING ANY FINAL ACTION TODAY,°AND HE STATED THAT HE DID.

CHAIRMAN WODTKE INQUIRED AS TO WHAT WOULD HAPPEN IF DR. FLOOD
CAN T DETERMINE FROM THE STATE WHAT THEY WILL CONTRIBUTE BEFORE THE BOARD
OFFICIALLY ADOPTS THE BUDGET.
DR. FLOOD STATED THAT HE WOULD HAVE TO USE HIS BALLPARK FIGURES,
AND IF THEY ARE LOW, HE WOULD HAVE TO FIRE SOMEONE OR OFFER LESS SERVICES.
HE NOTED THAT THE PROBLEM IN REGARD TO GETTING WORD FROM THE STATE WAS A
GENERALIZED PROBLEM AND DUE TO THE REORGANIZATION OF THE DEPARTMENT OF
HEALTH & REHABILITATIVE SERVICES.
THE CHAIRMAN ASKED IF ANYONE PRESENT WISHED TO BE HEARD. THERE
WERE NONE,
ON MOTION BY COMMISSIONER SCHMUCKER, SECONDED BY COMMISSIONER
LAY, THE BOARD UNANIMOUSLY CONTINUFD THE PUBLIC HEARING UNTIL MONDAY,
SEPTEMBER 26, 1977, AT 9:00 O'CLOCK A.M.
THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS THEREUPON RECESSED AND RECON-
VENED AS THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF THE LAURELWOOD SUBDIVISION STREET
LIGHTING DISTRICT.
