HomeMy WebLinkAbout6/5/19301 1 i 1 2 TUESDAY, JM 3rd 1930. j 9 The Board of County Commis si oners in and for Indian River county, Florida, met at the Court House in Vero Beach, Florida, at 10 o'clock A.M,Tuesda.y, June 3rd 1930, with the following members of the .Board present: J.D.Yongue; John H.Atkin, and Albert 0. II Helseth, chairman. Also present Miles Marren, Clerk. On account of this date being the day to hold the primary election for the year 19309 the Board adjourned until. Thursday, June 5th 1930. i AT T: airman. C l e r k. The Board of County Commissioners in and for Indian River County, Florida, met at the hurt House in Vero Beach, Florida at 10 o'clock A.M.Thursday, June 5th 19309 with the following members of the Board present: J. D. Yougue; J. W. truce; J.J.P.Hamil- ton; John H. Atkin, and Albert 0. Helseth, Chairman-. Also present were Miles warien, Clerk and Clark 3. Rice, Sheriff. The minates of the previous meetings were read, and with corrections were duly approved. *. B. gaffer, representing the Indian giver County Mosquito Control District appeared before the Board regarding ditch near Harry Ferscht s house. It was ordered that the County Engineer durnish the District dynamite to open up this ditch properly. The County Nurse made report of activities among the paupers. It was ordered I the hospital bill of Mrs O.E.Yjnowles be paid up to p90.00 of the amount. Also groceries If or Mrs. Barker of wabasso X11.85 and for work on eyes of Aaron Jackson, 625.00/ 1 It was ordered the County Engineer be instructed to loan County Agent two trucks and men to clew up the citrus groves in the County. It was ordered the County Engineer drag and put in shape certain streets in City c Fe ll mne re at the cost of that City. It was ordered the County Engineer surface the road on the peninsular from vlaba No rth, Mr Horace A. Bailey appeared regarding road just North of City limits of Vero Beaoh, from :nixie Highway East a distance of about 1/2 mile. It was ordered the Cduni sneer check up and ascertain if this has been declared,a public road and if public road to put same in condition. It was ordered that the County accept note of B.K.K.ersey for v119.24 for tractor rent and release tbas. Harris of any further obligations in this connection. It vwas o rde red that the salary of the Judge of the County Court be set at §25-00 ?er month in conformity with the General law, supreme Court decision and recommendation of the County Attorney. The Notary bond of E.G.Thatcher, in the sum of X500.00 with the American Surety Co . , a c o rpo rat ionnas surety was approved. ,application having been made by the farmers Bank of Vero Beach, Florida, to be lesignated County Depository for the year July lot 1930 to June 30th 1931, and there )eing no other application., and no other banking institution in the County, it was rdered that said Bank of designated the Depository of this County for the ensuing year all funds coming under the jurisdiction of the Board of County Commissioners, and and or security to act as such Depository is set at the sum of 610,000.00. The following goad petition was received, read, and riled: 129, q, ROAD PETI1TION. STATE 'OF FLORIDA ; ) a COUNTY OF INDIAN RIVER) TO THE HONORABLE BOARD OF COUNTY CO=I.Ssj0bfRS OF SAID COUNTY: Gentlemen: - We, the undersigned, citizens of of the County of Indian hiver, State of Flo- rida, respectfully represent that the necessities of the public require a County Road to be laid out as follows, to -wit-: Commencing at the East line of S.W.l/4 of N.E.1/4 of Sao. 26 T. 32 .R.39 N, and ext ending -lest through center of 'U. .1/4 of N.E.1/4 and through center of s.E.1/4 of N. W.1/4 of a c. 26 2. 32 S.R.39 E . , 'to connect with State Road #4, said right of way to be fifty (50) feet in width entire length. ,id road right- of-way to be not less than fifty feet in width. WO therefore petition your honorable body to cause to be laid out and opened a County Road as above described, and we, the owners of the land through which said Road is sought to be laid out, in consideration of the sum of one dollar to us each and severally in hand paid by the said County of Indian River, the receipt of vhich is hereby acknow ledged, hereby agree to give the right-of-way throng# our lands, as shown by the plat accompanying this petition, and relinquish all claims for damages by reason thereof. It was ordered, the petition be accepted, and a committee composed of gu$ntus Bobo; S.E.Glotrer and B.L.Leisher, be appwinted to view, mark and lay out said road and report this Board. The several bills and, accounts against the County having been audited, were examined and found to be correct were approved, and warrants ordered issued in settlement of sane. The said bills and accounts being on file in the office of -the Clerk of the Circuit Court drawn The warrants so ktzkzd from the respective funds, being listed completely in the County Finance Record as provided by law, the record of such warrants, the list so recorded and the County FinaAcey8e0ord-beirig made a part of these minutes as fully and completely as if the said varrants were set out herein in detail.
