A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF INDIAN RIVER
COUNTY, FLORIDA APPROVING THE COUNTY'S REVISED LOCAL HOUSING
ASSISTANCE PLAN
WHEREAS, Chapter 420, Florida Statutes, describes the State Housing Initiative Partnership (SHIP)
Program and states that the principal objective of that program is to increase the amount of affordable housing
within the State of Florida; and
WHEREAS, the Indian River County Board of County Commissioners, on April 6, 1993, approved
Ordinance Number 93-13, establishing the county's first Local Housing Assistance Program; and
WHEREAS, the current Local Housing Assistance Plan adequately addresses the county's affordable
housing needs; and
WHEREAS, the county has determined that minor changes to the 10 year impact fee loan strategy and 10
year rehabilitation loan strategy are needed to allow for SHIP loans to be used in conjunction with CDBG projects;
and
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners, on March 13, 2012, considered the revised Indian River
County Local Housing Assistance Plan.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of Indian
River County, Florida that:
Section 1.
The above recitals are ratified in their entirety
Section 2.
The attached revised Indian River County Local Housing Assistance Plan is hereby approved by the Board
of County Commissioners.
Section 3.
The Board of County Commissioners directs staff to submit two copies of the revised pages of the
Indian River County Local Housing Assistance Plan, and the approval resolution to the Florida
Housing Finance Corporation.
The foregoing resolution was offered by Commissioner Solari , and seconded by
Commissioner Flescher and being put to a vote, the vote was as follows:
