HomeMy WebLinkAbout2013-093RESOLUTION N0.2013- 093 A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA CONCERNING SPECIAL ACTS OF LOCAL APPLICATION REGARDING FISHING AND FISHING GEAR AND THE FLORIDA FISH AND WILDLIFE CONSERVATION COMMISSION. WHEREAS, the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (the "Commission") consists of seven unelected members appointed by the Governor of the State of Florida, and confirmed by the Senate; and WHEREAS, the unelected bureaucratic Commission has requested that the Board of County Commissioners review three special acts of local application relating to fishing regulations in Indian River County to determine whether these three special acts of local application can be repealed; and WHEREAS, the elected members of the Board of County Commissioners of Indian River County do not wish to provide a position on the repeal of these special acts of local application to an unelected, bureaucratic body; and WHEREAS, the elected members of the Board of County Commissioners of Indian River County believe that rules and regulations governing fishing regulations should be established by elected officials directly beholden to the people, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF INDIAN RIVER COUNTY that: 1. Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission. The Board of County Commissioners of Indian River County have unanimously refused to take a position on whether the unelected, bureaucratic Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission should repeal or not repeal three special acts of local application in Indian River County.
