TUESDAY AUGUST 19, 1930.
Avenue ditch on B-11 be built.
The several bills against the County having been audited, were examined and
found corredt, were approved and warrants ordered issued in payment of same, the said
bills and accounts being on file in the office of the Clerk of Circuit Court. The
warrants so drawn and issued in payment of said bills a nd accounts being listed completely
in the County Finance Record, as provided by law, reference to said County Finance record,
and the list so recorded therein being made a part of these minutes as fully and complete]
as if said warrants were set out herein in detail.
There being no further business the :Board then adjourned to meet in regular
session Tuesday September 2nd, 19300 unless sooner convened by call of the Chairman.

The Board of County Commissioners
in
and
for Indian River County, Florida, met at
the Court House in Vero Beach, Florida,
at
10
o'clock A.M.Tuesday, September 2nd 1930,
with the following members of the Board present: J. D. Yonguet J. Yl, LaBruce; J. J. P.
Hamilton and John H. Atkin. .Absent Albert 0. Helseth, Chairman. .Also present were
Miles Marren, Clerk and Clark S. Rice, ,sheriff.
On motion duly made, seconded and carried, John H. Atkin was named Chairman pro -
tem in the absence of the Chairman.
The minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved.
P.E.Morgan appeared before the Board regarding Ce erection of a fish house on old
road leading. to old bridge across Sebastian River, and requested authority for permissi
to erect such a building or taking charge of a building already there. It was of the
opinion of the Board that they did not have any right in and to the former right-of-way
as the road has been abandoned and this Board no longer claims a right of way.
B.K.Kersey and Paul Luther appeared before the Board regarding ditch on the Paul
Luther road at Winter Beach. It was ordered this road -ditch be opened up when the
machine is neer that location.
The County Nurse appeared before the Board and made report of her acticities.
Mothers' Pension application of Mrs
Maude Crosby, of
Vero Beach,
having been received,
and considered, it was ordered she
be placed on the
pension list
to receive $20.00 per
month. Application of Tom Herring, colored, Fellsm.ere, Florida, to be placed on the
pauper list was received and considered, and ordered he be placed on the pauper list to
receive $20.00 per month.
The County Agricultural Agent filed his monthly report of activities throughout the
County.
It wa.s ordered that F. G. Fletche r prepare plans and spe cif icati ons f orma sto re f

It was ordered the Clerk forward to Pauly Jail Building Company, Gt. Louis, Mo., M
16 time warrants of $1,000.00 each on account of jail building contract.
The Notary Public bond of Anne Eckhoff in the sum of $500.00 with The American
'Surety Company, a corporation, as surety was approved.

It was ordered that the balance retained on account of . contract of the Asfaltera Co.
in the amount of $1085.00 be .paid that Company, the County Engineer reporting that they
had finished their contract and the work ,had been accepted..

TO THE HONORABLE BOARD OF COUNTY COISS IONERS OF SAID COUNTY:
Gentlemen: -
We, the undersigned, citizens of the County of Indian River, State of Florida,
respectfully represent that the necessities of the public require a County Road to be lai(
out as follows, to -wit:
Commencing at the North-East corner of :Section Thirty-six (36)
Township Thirty-one (31) 'South; Range Thirty=eight (38) East,
Thence South an line between Ranges 38 and 39 to the East one-
quarter corner -of a-ction 12 Township 32 South, Range 38 East
a distance of two and one half miles,
Said road right-of;-yray to be not less than 50 feet in width.
We therefo re 'petition your honorable body to cause to be laid out and opened a Count,
Road as above described, and we, the owners of the lard through which said road is sought
to be laid out, in consideration of the sum of one dollar to us each and severally in han
paid by the said County of Indian River, the receipt of which is hereby acknowledged,
hereby agree to give the right-of-way through our lands, as shown by the plat accompanyin,
this petition, and relinquish all claims hX for damages by reason thexeof. Said petition
signed by Indian River Fruit Growers, by Hubert Graves, and four others.
It was ordered the petition be accepted, and that Hubert Graves, S.R.Wilkerson and
D.L.Leisher be appointed a committee to view, mark and lay out this road and report to
this Board.

respectfully represent that the necessities of the public require a County Road to be lai
out as follows, to -wit:
Commencing at Dixie Highway on half section line as per
diagram on opposite side, of this sheet. run East for a
distance of about 3/4 mile to 1/4 section line, thence run
South a distance of about 3/8 miles beginning at Dock Road
on 1/4 'Sec. line in :Seo. 11 to Woods and Church Road,
further described ass
Beginning at the Dixie Highway, running East along half
Section line No. 10,, crossing Section lines No. 10 and 11,
Running East to the 1/4 Section line in Section 11, with
drain ditch on North side of 1h.e road. Road then beginning
at Dock Road and running South on the 1/4 Sectkon line thence
running 'fest along 3/4 -Section line and connecting with the
Woods and Church road. Drain ditch to be on the South side
of said road. Beginning at the intersection of 1/4 Section
line and 3/4 Section line and running West and connecting
MoCulle.rs.and. Collins_ditch. on South side of said road,said
Road right-of-way to be not less than fifty feet in width.
We therefore petition your honorable body to cause to be laid out and opened a Count

-It -was ordered that said petition be accepted and filed and that C.T.Fletcher,
S. Moods and D.L.1eisher be appointed a committee to view, mark and lay out the best
route for this mad and report to this Board.
The several bills and accounts against the County, having been audited, were
examined and approved for payment and warrants ordered issued from the respective funds
in settlement of same. The bills and accounts being on file in the office of the Clerk
of the Circuit Court, and the warrants so drawn being listed completely in -the County
Finance record as provided by law, reference to said County Finance Record and the
list so recorded is made a part of these minutes as fully and completely as if the
said warrants were listed herein in detail.
The County Depository filed its monthly statement of receipts and disbursements,
which having been checked by the County Auditor were found to be correct.
There being no further business on motion made, seconded and carried the Board
adjourned until the next regular meeting to be held Tuesday, 'September 16th 1930.

The Board of County. Commissioners in and f or Indian River Countv, Florida, met at
the Court House in Vero Beach, Florida, on Tuesday September 16th, 1930, with the
following members of the Board present: Albert O.Helseth, Chairman; J.D.Yongue; J. W.
LaBruce; J.J.P.Hamilton and John H. Atkin. Also present were biles Marren, Clerk
and Clark S. Rice, Ma.eriff.
The following petition was received, read and filed.
ROAD PETITION
STATE OF FLORIDA, )
COUNTY OF INDIAN RIVER)
TO THE HONORABI3 BOARD OF COUNTY CONKISSIONERS OF SkID COUNTY:
Gentlemen;
We, the undersigned, citizens of 1he County of Indian River, State of Florida,
respectfully represent that the necessities of the public require a County Road to be
laid out as follows, to -wits -
Commencing at S.W.Cor.of the MS of the ` 4 of _Sect.,23,
T.32 R.39 E.9 Indian River County, and State of Florida.
Run North- on quarter Section line to a point 870 ft. North
of the point of beginning, said road to be not less than
25 feet in width. Said road to be not less than fifty
feet in width.
We therefore petition your honorable body to cause to be laid out and opened up
a County Road as above described, and sue, the owners of the land through which said
road is sought to be laid out, in consideration of the sum of One dollar to us each
and severally in hand paid by the said County of Indian River, the receipt of which is
h hereby acknowledged, hereby agree to give the right-of-way through our lands, as shown
,,by the plat accompanying this petition, and relinquish all claims for damage by
I reason thereof. Said petition signed by A.E.Arnold and 5 others.
It was ordered said petition be accepted and filed and A.E.Arnolcit Walter
Bobo and D.L.Leisher be appointed a committee to view, mark and lay out the best route
for this mad and report back to this Board.
