AN ORDINANCE OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS
OF INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA, AMENDING INDIAN
RIVER COUNTY ORDINANCE NO. 80-13 SECTION 6, RATES
AND CHARGES; INCREASING AND MODIFYING THE RATES
AND CHARGES APPLICABLE TO THE INDIAN RIVER COUNTY
WATER AND SEWER SYSTEM; PROVIDING FOR INCLUSION
IN THE CODE; SEVERABILITY AND EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Indian
River County has determined that it is in the best interest of the
citizens of Indian River County to provide a water and sewer
system that is self sustaining and does not rely upon other
sources of revenue, and
WHEREAS, the County Commission has determined that a
rate increase is necessary to meet the current obligations of the
water and sewer system and the requirements of the bond resolu-
tions issued as the basis of the financing for the system.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY
COMMISSIONERS OF INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA that:
SECTION 1.
Indian River County Ordinance No. 80-13, Section 6,
RATES AND CHARGES (a) Schedule. is hereby amended to read;
(a) Schedule.
The following rate schedule is hereby adopted by the
Board of County Commissioners;

For all usage over 2,000
gallons the charge per 1,000

All sewage rates are calculated upon the
respective water consumption per unit.
Up to 2,000 gallons per month . . . . . . . . . . . . . $9.00
All usage over 2,000
gallons per month, charge per each
1,000 additional gallons (up to
10,000 additional gallons maximum). . . . . . . . 2.25
The minimum base rate charge per unit per

Including schools, public buildings, churches,
service stations, retail stores, and all
nonresidential services . . . . . . . . 1008 of water bill.
SECTION 2.
INCORPORATION OF ORDINANCE IN COUNTY CODE.
Provisions of this Ordinance shall be incorporated into
the County Code and the word "ordinance" may be changed to
"section", "article", or other appropriate word, and the sections
of this Ordinance may be renumbered or relettered to accomplish
such int?ntions.
SECTION 3.
SEVERABILITY
In the event any section, paragraph or phrase of this
Ordinance is declared invalid by a court of competent jurisdic-
tion, such section, paragraph or phrase shall be deemed a separate
provision of this Ordinance and shall not affect the validity of
other parts of this Ordinance.
SECTION 4.
EFFECTIVE DATE
The provisions of this Ordinance shall become effective
upon receipt from the Florida Secretary of State of official
acknowledgment that this Ordinance has been filed with the
Department of State.
Approved and adopted by the Board of County
Commissioners of Indian River County, Florida this 29th day of
September, 1982.
