AN ORDINANCE OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS
OF INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA, AMENDING SECTION 25(o)
(5) OF ORDINANCE 71-3, AS AMENDED KNOWN AS THE INDIAN
RIVER COUNTY ZONING CODE; PROVIDING FOR SIGNS AS
PERMITTED USES IN THE R -2A, R -2B, R -2C AND R -2D,
MULTIPLE -FAMILY ZONING DISTRICTS; PROVIDING FOR
CODIFICATION, SEVERABILITY, REPEAL OF CONFLICTING PRO-
VISIONS, AND EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the Indian River County Zoning Code does not
presently address the placement of signs in the R -2A, R -2B, R -2C
and R -2D, Multiple -Family Zoning Districts; and
WHEREAS, with appropriate regulation as to size, number
and nature, signs should be a permitted use within the
aforementioned districts, just as they are in a number of other
similar districts;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY
COMMISSIONERS OF INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA, that:
SECTION 1. Subsections (h), (i), (j), and (k) to Sec-
tion 25 (o) (5) of Ordinance No. 71-3, as amended, also known as
the Indian River County Zoning Code, are hereby created to
read as follows.
(5) Districts. Sizes are permitted uses in Zoning
Districts in accordance with the following schedule:
h. R -2A Multiple -Family District.
(a) Sale.
(b) Bulletin.
(c) Directional.
(d) Business (on-site only).
i. R -2B Multiple -Family District.
(a) Sale.
(b) Bulletin.
(c) Directional.
(d) Business (on-site only).
R -2C Multiple -Family District.
(a) Sale.
(b) Bulletin.
(c) Directional.
(d) Business (on-site only).
k. R -2D Multiple -Family District.
(a) Sale.
(b) Bulletin.
(c) Directional.
(d) Business (on-site only).
SECTION 2.
Subsections (h) - (s) of the existing ordinance -are
hereby relettered to accommodate the above referenced newly ,
created subsections.
SECTION 3.
INCORPORATION IN CODE. The provisions of this ordinance
shall be incorporated into the County Code and the word
"ordinance" may be changed to "section", "article", or other
appropriate word, and the sections of this ordinance may be
renumbered or relettered to accomplish such intentions_
SECTION 4.
SEVERABILITY_ If any Section, part of a sentence,
paragraph, phrase or word of this ordinance is for any reason
held to be unconstitutional, inoperative or void, such holdings
shall not affect the remaining portions hereof and it shall be
construed to have been the legislative intent to pass this
ordinance without such unconstitutional, invalid or inoperative
part.
SECTION 5.
EFFECTIVE DATE. The provisions of this ordinance shall
become effective upon receipt from the Florida Secretary of State
of official acknowledgment that this ordinance has been filed with
the Department of State.

Commissioners of Indian River County, Florida on this 4thday of
May , 1983.
