The Standard Building Code, 1988 edition, with 1989
revisions, including Appendix A, as published by the
Southern Building Code Congress international, Inc., is
hereby adopted by reference as the Indian River County,
Florida, Building - Code, subject to' the a imitations,

Congress— International, —Inc_, is hereby adopted by reference
as the housing code of Indian River County, Florida, with
such modifications as may be set forth by the Board of
County Commissioners by ordinance.
SECTION 7.
Conflicting Provisions.
Special acts of the Florida legislature applicable only
to unincorporated areas of Indian River County, County
ordinances and County resolutions, or parts thereof, in
conflict with this ordinance are hereby superseded by this
ordinance to the extent of such conflict.
SECTION -8.
Severability.
If any section, or if any sentence, paragraph, phrase,
or word of this ordinance is for any reason held to be
unconstitutional, inoperative, or void, such holding shall
not affect the remaining portions of this ordinance, and it
shall be construed to have been the legislative intent to
pass the ordinance without such unconstitutional, invalid or
inoperative part.
SECTION 9.
Incorporation in Code.
---------------------
This ordinance shall be incorporated into the Code of
Laws and Ordinances of Indian River County and the word
"ordinance" may be changed to "section", "article", or other
,appropriate word and the sections of this ordinance may be
renumbered or relettered to accomplish such purposes.
SECTION -10.
Effective Date.
This ordinance shall become effective January 17, 1990.
Approved and adopted by the Board of County
Commissioners of Indian River County, Florida, on this 2nd
day of January 1990.
