FLORIDA ESTABLISHING CHAPTER 104 -
PERSONNEL; PROVIDING REPEAL; PROVIDING
SEVERABILITY; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE
DATE,
BE IT ORDAINED by the Board of County
Commissioners of Indian River Coun-y_,- that,
SECTION I.
PERSONNEL,
Chapter 104 - Personnel of Title I as set forth in
Attachment A to this ordinance is hereby adopted.
SECTION 2.
REPEAL,
Those portions of the Indian River County Code
(1974 edition) superseded or in conflict with the provisions
herein adopted, in particular Chapter 1, are hereby
repealed.
SECTION 3.
SEVERABILITY.
1-f—any s-L-cti-on, or if -any sentence-, -paragraph,
phrase, or word of this ordinance is for any reason held to
be unconstitutional, inoperative, or void, such holding
shall not affect the remaining portions of this ordinance,
and it shall be construed to have been the legislative
intent to pass the ordinance without such unconstitutional,
invalid or inoperative part.
SECTION 4,
EFFECTIVE DATE.
This ordinance shall become effective upon
_confirmation from the.Secretary of State.

Commissioners of Indian River County, Florida, on this 18

Section 104,01 Equal Employment Opportunity
It 1s' the policy of Indian River County to provide equal
opportunity in employment to all employees and applicants
for employment. No person shall be discriminated against in

Section 104.02 Administrative Policy Manual
The Director of -Personnel shall maintain under',the direction

com llation of policies, practices, and procedures that
apply to managers, supervisors and employees of Indian River
County. This manual shall be updated, from time to time,
with the approval of the County Commission. This manual is

Retirement-System
EmployeesEmployees working in a full -time or part-time regularly
established positions have membership in the Florida
Retirement System (FRS), FRS is noncontributory for
members; contributions are made on behalf of the members by
the County.
Section 104.04 Federal Social Security Act
The benefits of the system of old age and survivor's
insurance as authorized by the Federal Social Security Act,
Section 104,05 Deferred Compensation

A deferred compensation plan, currently administered by ICMA.
Retirement Corporation, is available on an optional basis to
empioyees, anis program is a supplement to a retirement
income and it provides for a tax deferral on income
contributed to the plan,
