ORDINANCE 91-2r
AN ORDINANCE OF INDIAN RIVER COUNTY,
FLORIDA, PROVIDING FOR THE REPEAL OF
CHAPTER 8, FIREARMS, OF THE CODE OF
ORDINANCES OF INDIAN RIVER COUNTY AND
DECLARING SAME TO BE NULL AND VO I D AND
OF NO EFFECT.
WHEREAS, the State, of. Florida has preempted the
right of local governments..to issue licenses to carry
concealed weapons or firearms, and
WHEREAS,,. Chapter; 8-' Whi'ch' sets forth, County
icensing,procedures for concealed weapons is, therefore,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE--]T—ORDAINED by the ,Board of
County-Corrmissioners of Indian -Fiver County that:,
SECTION 1. REPEAL
Chapter 8 - Firearms of the Code of Ordinances of
Indian River County is hereby repealed and declared null and
void and of no effect.
SECTION 2. EFFECTIVE DATE,
This ordinance shall become effective upon
becoming law.
Approved and adopted by the Board of County
Commissioners of Indian River .County, .Florida, on this 14
day of _ Llj , 1992.
This ordinance was advertised in the Vero Beach
Press -Journal on the 15 day ,of June 1992, for a
public hearing to be held on the 14__ day of
1992, at which time it was moved for adoption b
