AN ORDINANCE OF INDIAN RIVER COUNTY,
FLORIDA, CREATING A RISK MANAGEMENT
PROGRAM AND PROVIDING FOR OPERATIOIJ+ OF
THE PROGRAM PURSUANT TO A MANUAL
DESCRIBING THE PROGRAM, WHICH MANUAL,
—AND—THE—POLICIES CONTAINED_ THEREW_,
SHALL BE APPROVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY
COMMISSIONERS OF INDIAN RIVER COUNTY,
FLORIDA; PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTING
PROVISIONS; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY;
PROVIDING FOR INCORPORATION IN CODE; AND
PROVIDING FOR EFFECTIVE DATE.
BE IT ORDAINED by the Board of County
Commissioners of Indian River County that the following
ordinance is hereby adopted as follows;
SECTION_1_
Risk Management Program.
There shall be a risk management program for
Indian River County which shall operate pursuant to the
policies established and contained within the risk
management program manual, which manual shall be approved by
the Board of County Commissioners.
SECTION 2.
ConflictinqProvisions.
In case of a conflict between the provisions of
this ordinance and prior ordinances, the prior ordinance
shall be deemed repealed to the extent of such conflict.
SECTION 3.
Sever—ab-Fl-ity.
If any section, or if any sentence, paragraph,
phrase, or word of this ordinance is for any reason held to
be unconstitutional, inoperative, or void, such holding
shat t -n-ot aff-ert tKe rema-V -ing pvrrions ufi this ordinance,
and it shall be construed to have been the legislative
intent to pass the ordinance without such unconstitutional,
invalid or inoperative part.

This ordinance shall be incorporated into the Code
of Ordinances of Indian River County and the word
"ordinance" may be changed to "section", "article", or other
SECTION 5.
Effective Date,
This ordinance shall become effective upon receipt
from the Secretary of State of the State of Florida of

with the Department of State.
Approved and adopted by the Board of County
Commissioners of Indian River County, Florida, on this 6th
day of March , 1990.
This ordinance was advertised in the Vero Beach
Press -Journal on the 6th day of February—, 1990, for a
public hearing to be held on the 6th _ day of _March
1990, at which time it was moved for adoption by
Commissioner Scurlock I seconded by Commissioner
Bowman---, and adopted by the following vote:
