HomeMy WebLinkAbout1999-137RESOLUTION NO. 99-137 A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF INDIAN RIVER COUNTY AUTHORIZING THE FILING OF AN FV 1999/00 GRANT APPLICATION FOR 49 USC CH. 53, SECTION 5307 MASS TRANSIT CAPITAL AND OPERATING ASSISTANCE. WHEREAS, the Federal Transit Administration (FTA) is authorized to award Section 5307 grant funds for the implementation of a mass transportation program of projects; WHEREAS, Indian River County and the Indian River County Council on Aging utilize FTA Section 5307 funds to provide needed public transportation services within the County and; WHEREAS, in applying for FTA Section 5307 fonds, Indian River Countv and the Indian River County Council on Aging will comply with all applicable federal regulations and requirements associated with the Section 5307 program. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE INDIAN RIVER COUNTY BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS: That the Community Development Director is authorized to the applications on belialf of Indian River County with the U.S. Department of Transportation to finance and implement the capital and operating program of projects specified in the County's FY 1999/00 grant application under 49 USC Chapter 53, Section 5307. That the Chairman of the Indian River County Board of County Commissioners and/or the County Attorney is authorized to execute, and the Community Development Director is authorized to file with such application, an assurance or any other document required by the U.S. Department of Transportation effectuating the purpose of Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964. That the County Attorney and/or the Community Development Director is authorized to execute grant agreements with the U.S. Department of Transportation to finance and implement the program of projects specified in the County's FY 1999/00 grant application under 49 USC Chapter 53, Section 5307. 4. That the Chairman of the Indian River County Board of County Commissioners is authorized to set forth and execute necessary Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) policies in connection with such application as specified in the County's adopted DBE plan and in accordance with the federal requirements of 49 CFR Part 26. That the Indian River County Community Development Director is authorized to furnish such additional information as the U.S. Department of Transportation may require in connection with the County's FY 1999/00 grant application under 49 USC Chapter 53, Section 5307.
