HomeMy WebLinkAbout2000-124i ii RESOLUTION 2000- 124 A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF INDIAN RIVER T COUNTY, FLORIDA, RESTRUCTURING THE INDIAN RIVER COUNTY EMERGENCY SERVICES DISTRICT ADVISORY COMMITTEE, AMENDING RESOLUTION 91- 93, RELIEVING CURRENT MEMBERS OF THE INDIAN RIVER COUNTY EMERGENCY SERVICES DISTRICT ADVISORY COMMITTEE OF THEIR DUTIES, AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, Chapter 103 of The Code of Indian River County (Ordinance 90-20) provides for the establishment of advisory boards; and WHEREAS, by Resolution 91-93 the Board of County Commissioners created the Indian River County Emergency Services District Advisory Committee; and WHEREAS, it is the will of the Board of County Commissioners to amend the composition of the Indian River County Emergency Services District Advisory Committee, NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved by the Board of County Commissioners of Indian River County, Florida, as follows: 1. Paragraph 1 of Resolution 91-93 of the Board of County Commissioners of Indian River County is hereby amended to read as follows: There is hereby created an Emergency Services District Advisory Committee to be composed of ten (10) members with membership and the initial terms of office as follows: One member of the Board of County Commissioners selected by the Board of County Commissioners for a term which is coterminous with his/her present term on the Board of County Commissioners, who shall serve as chairman of the Emergency Services District Advisory Committee; Five members, each one appointed respectively by a member of the Board of County Commissioners for initial terms of four (4) years, such appointments being announced at a • 0 0 RESOLUTION NO. 2000-124 meeting or meetings of the Board of County Commissioners; Four members, each one appointed respectively by the city councils of the City of Fellsmere, the Town of Orchid, the City of Sebastian, and the City of Vero Beach, for initial terms of two (2) years. Following the initial terms, all members' terms, except that of the member of the Board of County Commissioners, whose term shall be coterminous with his/her term on the Board of County Commissioners, shall be four (4) years. 2. Paragraph 4 of Resolution 91-93 is hereby amended to read as follows: The Indian River County Emergency Services District Advisory Committee shall be governed by such laws, ordinances, and resolutions, that govern such advisory boards. 3. This resolution shall become effective upon the adoption thereof by the Board of County Commissioners. Current members of the Indian River County Emergency Services District Advisory Committee shall be relieved of their duties as members thereof, effective at such time as the reconstituted Emergency Services District Advisory Committee holds its first meeting, without further action of the Board of County Commissioners to discharge them. The resolution was moved for adoption by Commissioner Tippin and the motion was seconded by Commissioner Stanbridge , and, upon being put to a vote, the vote was as follows: Chairman Fran B.
