A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY
COMMISSIONERS OF INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA,
SUPPORTING THE DESIGNATION OF THE FELLSMERE
CORRIDOR EXTENSION THROUGH THE UNIN-
CORPORATED AREA OF INDIAN RIVER COUNTY;
PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the Indian River Lagoon National Scenic Byway Coalition has
proposed a 27 -mile corridor extension loop known as the Fellsmere Corridor Extension
generally described as Roseland Road from US 1 to CR -512; CR 512 from Roseland
Road to CR -507, CR -507 from CR -512 to Micco Road; and Micco Road from CR -507 to
US 1; and
WHEREAS, a portion of the extension lies within the unincorporated area of
Indian River County; and
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Indian River County desires
designation as a scenic highway in the Scenic Highway Program.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY
COMMISSIONERS OF INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA that:
1. That the Board of County Commissioners supports the Coalition's efforts
in designating those portions of the Fellsmere Corridor Extension lying
within the unincorporated area of Indian River County, Florida as a scenic
highway.
2. The Board of County Commissioners intends to include the Corridor
Extension within its Comprehensive Plan.
3. A copy of this Resolution shall be delivered to all appropriate agencies
including the Indian River County Metropolitan Planning Organization and
the Florida Department of Transportation and any other appropriate
agencies and organizations including federal, state and local agencies.
4. This Resolution 2009-057 shall take effect upon passage by the Board of
County Commissioners of Indian River County, Florida.
This resolution was moved for adoption by Commissioner O'Bryan and the
motion was seconded by Commissioner Solari and upon being put to a vote, the vote
was as follows:

Commissioner Peter D. O'Bryan Aye

The Chairman thereupon declared the resolution duly passed and adopted this
21st day of April, 2009,
