A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY
COMMISSIONERS OF INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA,
PROVIDING FOR NOTICE ON MATTERS OF INTEREST TO THE
UNINCORPORATED GIFFORD COMMUNITY.
WHEREAS Gifford, Florida is an unincorporated area, and as such is not
currently receiving notices typically given to municipalities within Indian River
County as required by the intergovernmental coordination element of the County
Comprehensive Plan; and
WHEREAS during 2009 members of the Gifford community were shocked
and distressed to find that a concrete plant had been approved at a staff level
without notice to the community; and
WHEREAS the Board of County Commissioners directed that henceforth
notice be provided to interested members of the Gifford community; and
WHEREAS that directive was implemented during the public hearings
held in December of 2009 with respect to funding for the Gifford Community
Center;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY
COMMISSIONERS OF INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA that when County
staff becomes aware of any matters that may be of interest to residents of
unincorporated Gifford, that the following persons and/or entities be given written
notice of such matters of interest:
