HomeMy WebLinkAbout2010-041RESOLUTION NO. 2010-041 A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA, DELEGATING THE AUTHORITY TO THE COUNTY ADMINISTRATOR OR HIS DESIGNEE TO EITHER ATTEND IN PERSON OR APPOINT A REPRESENTATIVE BY PROXY TO VOTE ON ANY MATTERS AT ANNUAL MEETINGS OF ANY WATER CONTROL DISTRICTS WITHIN INDIAN RIVER COUNTY WHERE INDIAN RIVER COUNTY AND/OR THE SOLID WASTE DISPOSAL DISTRICT IS A LAND OWNER WITHIN THAT DISTRICT. WHEREAS, there are six water control districts located in Indian River County, namely, Fellsmere, Vero Lakes, Sebastian River Improvement District, Delta Farms, St. Johns Improvement District and Indian River Farms; and WHEREAS, from time to time Indian River County and/or the Solid Waste Disposal District, as a land owner, receives proxies and notices of annual meetings of land owners within water control districts located in Indian River County; and WHEREAS, annual meetings are required by law and are generally organizational, budgetary and ministerial in nature; and WHEREAS, to obviate the need to come before the Board of County Commissioners each year on separate occasions for each annual meeting, it is requested that the Board of County Commissioners consider delegating the authority to the County Administrator or his designee to either attend in person, or to appoint a recommended individual named in a proxy to represent the County and/or the Solid Waste Disposal District as land owner at annual meetings of any water control district located in Indian River County, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of Indian River County, Florida and as commissioners of the Indian River County Solid Waste Disposal District, that the County Administrator or his designee is authorized to either attend in person, or to appoint a recommended individual named in a proxy to represent the County and/or the Solid Waste Disposal District as land owner at annual meetings of any water control district located in Indian River County. The foregoing resolution was offered by Commissioner Solari and seconded by Commissioner Wheeler, and, upon being put to a vote, the vote was as follows: t RESOLUTION NO. 2010-041 Chairman Peter D.
