TUESDAY, JUNE 2nd 1931.
At a regular meeting of the Board of County Commissioners in and for Indian River
County, Florida, held at the Court House in Fero Beach, at 10 o'clock A.M.Tuesday,
June 2nd 19319 the following members of the Board were present; Albert 0. Helseth,
Chai=an; J.D.Yongue; J.W.LaBruce; J.J.P.Hamilton and Eli C. Walker. Also present
were Miles Warren, Clerk and Clark So Rice, Sheriff.
The minutes of the previous meetings were read and approved.
The following checks were received:

such Checks were ordered placed in the Road & Bridge Fund.
A.O.Greynolds appeared before the Board regarding the re -oiling of roads in
Special Road & Bridge District '#4.
Application of airs R. Cothern for Mothers' Pension received, and appearing in
form, it was ordered that she be placed on the Bothers' Pension list to receive the
sum of $20.00 per month until further orders.
As provided by law, the Board of County Commissioners received applications for
designation as County Depository for the year beginning July lot 1931 and ending
June 30th 1932. The application of Fawners Bank of Fero Beach having been received and
carefully considered, it was ordered that such Bank be designated as the official
County Depository for all funds coming under the jurisdiction of this Board for the
year next ensuing, and further ordered that the Depository Bond to be filed be in the
sum of $10t000.00.
On account of failure of a large number of tax -payers to pay the taxes upon
their property, and by reason of the more moderate living conditions than heretofore
existing the Board proceeded to check over the Pauper list and also the list of those
receiving Mothers' Pensions from the County, and after carefully considering same,
ordered that the following changes be made in the list, effective July lot 19311

It was ordered that the Clerk be instructed to advise the School Board that in as
much as the School Year has now closed, to have Miss Leila Bunkley surrender at the -a -
tool house the Ford r e r, owned by the County, and used by her during the school
term just closed.
It was moved by Commissioner Hamilton, seconded by Commissioner Yongue, and
unanimously adopted that the following wage scale be set for work on the County
Public roads, to -wit;

Such reductions being made in order to apread out more fully the amount of public fund
expended during the summer months, enabling more people to secure employment while.
P to work is scarce.
The several bills and accounts against the Court having been audited, were
examined and found correct, were approved, and warrants ordered issued in settlement of
same. Such bills and accounts being on file in the office of the Clerk of the Circuit
Court. The warrants so issued in settlement of the bills and accounts being listed
completely in the County Finance Record as provided by law, reference to such record
and the list so recorded being made a part of these minutes as fully and completely as
if the,said warrants were set out herein in detail.
The Court Depository filed its monthly statement showing receipts and disbursement
of the various funds, which having been checked over were found to be correct.
There being no further business on motion made, seconded and carried the Board
adjourned until the regular meeting to be held the first Monday in July 1931.

The Board of County Commissioners innand for Indian River County, Florida, met
at the Court House in Vero Beach, at 2 o'clock P.M.Tuesday, June 9th 1931, on call
of the Chairman,. iwith- the following members of the Board present: Albert O.Helseth,
Chairman,J.D.Yongue; J.J.P.Homilton and J.W.LaBruce. Also p resent were Miles War
Clerk and Clark S. Rice, sheriff.
H.D.Barwick Co., Inc., a corporation offered and tendered the sum of $389.59
for the purchase of Tax Certificate #511 sale of June 1923 for unpaid 1922 taxes,
and all subsequent omitted taxes such certificate covering Tracts 1 -to 16 inc.,
Section 9 Tp 33 South Range 38 East 643 acres. It was moved, seconded and carried
that such amount be accepted including all taxes, costs, charges and fees.
The Bond of L. I. Merriman as County Judge in the sum of 029000.00 with United
States Fidelity and Guaranty Company, a corporation as surety was -approved.
The Tax Collector was requested to make distribution of funds on hand collect
to date not later than June 15th next.
There being no further business on motion made, seconded and carried the Board
adjourned until the regular meeting to be held the first Monday in -July 1931.
