The Board of County Commissioners in and f or Indian isiver vounty,bFlorida, met at the Court house in. hero Beach, at 10 o'clock A.B. Tuesday, March lst 1932, with the following. members of the Board present: .Albert U. helseth, chairman; J. D. Yongue; s J., W. LaBruee; J.J.P.Hamilton and Bli C. Walker. also present were Miles warren,ulerk and Clark S. dice, -seriff. I The minutes of the previous meetings were read and approved. It was ordered that license tags for the County road trucks be purchased. Pay roll for state witnesses at the November 1931 and February 1932 terms of the County Court were approved. This Board having heretofore ordered that U*A.Vandiveer, a member of the Board of Public Instructions file an additional bond, and having further investigated said bond, it was found to be sufficient and ordered that the request heretofore made be rescinded. An offer having been received for the sale of X109000.00 city of TAke -worth bonds, at 25 flat and having communicated with the state treasurers as ex -officio County ireasurer,.and he having recommended that the bonds be not sold at this time at the price: indicated, it was ordered that said bonds be held and not disposed of at this time. i Bill of 824.00 account policy for 01250.00 on county Garages and 'Stock was ordered f approved. Judge Otis X. Cobb appeared before the Board regarding Fine & Cost bond of Albert -spear upon which X25.00 had been paid, said bond being signed by s.V.Rogers abd V!.0. Huggins as sureties. He was advised that this was a. matter between the °aheriff, the defendant, 'Spear and the sureties on the bond. Bills for feeding prisoners and sheriff's criminal cost bill for January 1932 was approved. The Count y Assessor of taxes submitted the tax roll for the year 19319 which was approved, and the following warrant was annexed to said roll: THE STATE OF FLORIDA. To G. R. Olmstead, Tax Collector of the County of Indian River. You are hereby commanded to collect out of the real estate and personal property, and from each of the persons and corporations named in the annexed roll, the taxes set down in each roll opposite each name, corporation or parcel of land therein described, and in case taxes so imposed are not paid at the time prescribed by law, you are to collect the same by levy and sale of the goods and chattels, lands and tenements so assessed, or of the person or corporation so taxed; and all sums collected for the :Mate taxes you are to pay to the State Treasurer at such time as may be required by laws and at the same time you are to pay to the legally qualified Depository all sums collected for County taxes, district school taxes and other special taxes; and you are further � required to make all collections on or before the first Monday in April; and on or before the first Monday ,in July you will make a final report to and settlement with the Comptroller and the County commissioners. The -following resolution was introduced by commissioner Hamilton, and,unanimously adopted: WAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Indian River County, Florida, at a meeting of said Board regularly called and held on the let day of March, 193p,, did pursuant to Section 2420 of the Compiled General Laws of Florida examine carefully as tE the sufficiency of bond of the Tax Collector of said County; and, WHEREAS, by reason of assignment and insolvency of some of the sureties on the Bo ' of Hon. Gordon H. Olmstead, Tax Collector of said County, and by reason of apparent. o liability accrued on said bond because of alleged shortage, this Board has reason to believe and does believe that the sufficiency of the bond of said Tax Collector has become impaired; L� r 1 1 1 1 THEREFORHO be it Resolved: That this Board has reason to believe and does believe that because of the reasons hereinabove set forth the sufficiency of the Bond of Hon. Gordon R. Olmstead as Tax Collector of said County has become impaired and is insuffi.. tient to adequately protect the interests of the $tate and County to the extent of 0109000.00; and, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVEDs That the fact of such insufficiency and impairment be at once reported to the Governor of the State of Floridap and that the Governor be, and he is hereby requested- to promptly call upon and require the said Gordon R. Olmstead, as such Tax Collector, to execute and file with the proper officer a new bond in the amount of $100000.00, in accordance with section 2420 of the Compiled General Lawn of Florida; and, BE IT FURTHER RESOD that the Clerk of this Board be and he is hereby directed , ha : y to promptly deliver a certified copy of this resolution to Hon. Gordon R.Olmstead, Tax Collector of Indian River County, and to Hon. Doyle Be Carlton, Governor. The Board of County Commissioners in and for Indian River County, Florida, met ' at the Court douse in Vero Beach, at 10:00 o'clock A.M.Tuesday, April 5th 19329 with the following members of the Board present: Albert 0. Helseth, Chairman; J. D. Yongue, J. W. LaBruce; J.J.P.Ham.ilton and Eli C. Walker. Also present were Miles Warren, Clerk and Clark S. Rice, Sheriff. The Minutes of the previous meeting were read and. approved. It was ordered Mrs lay Cothern be stricken from the Mothers Pension list effect- ive after paying up assignments now on file. The following resolution was introduced: AREAS, by reason of the limited amount of tax that can be levied for the Mothers Pension Fund, and by reason of the large percentage of the real estate of the County is off the tax rolls by virtue of delinquency, there appears a deficit in the said Mothers Pension Fund, and, WHEREAS there remains a balance in the Publicity Fund and the Agricultural Fund of this County, for which no appropriations have been made and no expenditures contemplated;. THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the sum of X250.00 be transferred from the Publicity.Ftind to the Mothers Pension Fund, and the sum of 0100.00 be transferred from the Agricultural .Fund to the Mothers Pension Fund to meet current obligations now due. Upon beim put to a vote the same was unanimously adopted. The Notary bond of Rachel Brocksmith in the sum of 0500.00 with Waldo B -Sexton and Walter S. Buckinghssm as sureties was approved, it was ordered that Tax Certificate 878 sale of July 1928 be sold for the sum of $22.60 including all costs. It was ordered bill of Florida Power & Light Co., in the sum of $7.799 for damages to power line by Road Department be paid and is hereby approved. �I
