The Board of County Commissioners in and for Indian River County, Florida, met at the Court House in Nero Beach, at 2:00 o'clock P.M.Tednesday, September 23rd 1932, special session, on call of the Chaii-man, with the following members of the Board present: Albert 0. Helseth, Chairman; J.D.Yongue; J.W.LaBruee; J.J.P.Hamilton and Eli C Talker. Also present were Miles Warren, Clerk and Clark 'S. Rice, Sheriff. The Chairman announced this special meeting was called for the purpose of approvin, the bond of Troy E. Moody, as Tax Collector, after having been appointed by the Gove for the un -expired term. Mr. Moody appeared before the Board and tendered a bond in the sum of $20,000.00 executed by himself, as principal, and the National Surety Company, a corporation, as surety. After due consideration, Commissioner LdBftbejp introduced the following reso- lution, and moved its adoption, which was seconded by Commissioner Hamilton: '"REAS, Troy E. Moody has presented to this Board for approval his bond as Tax Collector in the sum of $200000.00, furnished by the National Surety Company; and, VMREAS, National Surety Company, under the terns of said bond, would not be li.ab] for loss sustained by reason of the failure of any bank in which Mr. Moody should place funds received by him; and, `OREdAS, it has been the practice in this County for the Tax Collector to deposit funds collected for taxes, and licenses in a Bank, prior to making distribution and pay- ing the same over to the County•Depositaryq and the Board assumes that qtr. Moody as Tax Collector will follow the same practice; and, VMI—EAS because of the limitation placed upon its liability in said Bond by the Surety, this Board is unwilling to unconditionally approve said Bond: THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: That the said Bond be and the some is hereby approved upon this condition; Namely; That said Troy E. Moody agrees and pledges himself not to make deposit of any funds received as such Tax Collector in any bank unless and until .such Bank secures such deposit 100 per cent by deposit of U.S.Government Bonds with saic Troy E. Moody, and that said Troy E. Moody as such Tax Collector agrees that he will at any time when so requested furnish satisfactory evidence to this Board and to the Comptroller that such funds are so secured. Bond. Which resolution was unanimously adopted and a copy thereof attached to the said The Bond of Troy E. Moody, as Tax Collector, in the sum of $20,000.00 with The National Surety Company, a corporation, as surety Ras approved. To the Honr&iof eCWunty Commissioners Of Indian River County, Florida. I hereby agree to and accept the conditions set forth in the above resolution, upon which said bond is approved. Signed in duplicate, this 23rd day of Sept. 1932. Troy E. Moody, as Tax Collector, of Indian River County,Florida. The Board then adjourned until Tuesday, September 27th 1932 at 2:00 o'clock P.M.
