The Depository statements for the month of September, having been filed, were
checked over and found to be correct.
There being no further business the Board adjourned until Mondays October 10th,
1932 at 9:00 o'clock A.M.

The Board of County Commissioners in and for Indian River County, Florida, met at
the Court House in Vero Beach, Florida, at 9x00 o'clock A.M.Monday, October 10th,1932,
with the following members of the Board present: Albert 0. Helseth, Chairman; J.D.Yon-
gue; J.W.LaBruee; J.J.P.Hamilton and Eli C. Walker. Also present were Miles Warren,
Clerk and Clark S. Rice, Sheriff.
The Tax Assessor submitted the tax roll for the year 1932, which was approved,
and the following warrant annexed to said roll:
THE STATE OF FLORIDA,
To Troy E. Moody,
Tax Collector of the County of Indian River.
You are hereby commanded to collect out of the real estate and personal property,
and from each of the persons and corporations named in the annexed roll, the taxes set
down in each roll opposite each name, corporation or parcel of land therein described,
and in case taxes so imposed are not paid the time prescribed by law you are to collect
the same by levy and sale of the goods and chattels, lands and tenements so assessed,
or of the person or corporation so taxed, and all sums collected for the State taxes
you are to pay to the State Treasurer at such time as may be required by law, and at
the same time you are to pay to the legally qualified Depository all sums collected for
County taxes, District school taxes, and other special taxes; and you. are further
required to make all collections on or before the first monday in April; and on or
before the first Monday in July you will make a final report to and settlement with
the Comptroller and County Commissioners.

The Tag Assessor submitted the tax roll for the year 1932s on assessment of
Intangible Personal Property, whiehsi��was approved, and the following warrant annexed
to said roll:

You are hereby commanded to collect out of the real estate and personal property
from each of the persons and corporations named in the annexed Intangible personal
property assessment RoK, the taxes set down in each roll opposite each name of person
firm or corporation therein described, and in case taxes so imposed are not paid, at
the time presci-ibed by law, you are to collect the same by levy, and sale of the goods
and chattels, lands and tenements of the person, firm or corporation so taxes; and all
sums collected for the State taxes you are to pay to the State Treasurer at such time
as may be required by law,; and you are further required to make all collections on or

The report of Geo T. Tipping Agricultural Enumerator, was received and examined, a
approved, and same was ordered transmitted to the Commissioner of Agriculture.
J.B.Wetherington, Assistant State Auditor submitted a final report of the audit of
G.R.Olmstead, as Tax Collector, showing $15,847.59 due the State and County the day he
retired from this office.
Gus,A Tomlinson, attorney for G.R.Olmstead; appeared and made the following offer
in settlement of the claim of amount due as found by the Assistant State Auditors
$6,000.00 in St.Lucie County bonds
2,000.00 Grove at Waba.sso
3,000.00 Equity in Home at Vero Beach
500.00 Butck automobile
1,000.00 Property in Jacksonville
500.00 Property in Miami
$13,000.00, and the balance to be paid in cash this days.
Commissioner J.W.LaBruce mored that the County accept 069000.00 in bonds and Buick
automobile valued at 0500.00 and request the balance due in cash, for the shortage
alleged in the office of Tax Collector. Upon the advice of the County attorney that thi
motion was legal, Commissioner Walker seconded the motion.
Commissioner Hamilton offered an amendment to the motion to accept the bonds at
the market price, Buick automobile at 6500.00 and the balance to be paid in eash,whieh
amendment was seconded by Commissioner Yongue.
Upon being put to a vote the amendment was unanimously carried.
The Clerk was instructed to prepare the ballots for the General Election to be held
Tuesday, November 8th 1932, and instructed to place the names of all nominees of all
parties as certified by the Secretary of State, for State and national offices, and all
nominees- f or.;Cotiilt� osf ices as certified by the Supervisor of Registration.
The following named persons were selected to serve as Inspecto,-Xp;rand Clerk of
Election for the various precincts to hold and conduct the election to be held Tuedday,
November 8th 1932.
