Helseth, Chairman, J.DYongue«`. J.W.LaBraee; J-.J.P.Hamilton and Eli C. Walker, Also present were Miles Warren,Clerk And Clark R. Rice, Sheriff. The Chairman announced the special meeting was called for the purpose of consider- Ing a settlement between the County and the Columbia Casualty Company, surety on the official bond of Gordon R. Olmstead, former Tex Collector. James -T. Voeelle, attorney for the Columbia Casualty Company appeared before the Board regarding the claims against Gordon R Olmstead, former Tax Collector and his official bond and made the following proposition, as final settlement on the -bond. $6,000.00 in Rt Lucie County, Florida bonds 30400.00 in Special R & B Dist #1 bonds of this County 11,000000 in Cash. After considerable discussion, it was moved by Commissioner Hamilton that settlemei be made in accordance with the agreement made October 19th 1932, contingent upon Olm- stead-assigning lmstead assigning to the present Tax Collector amounts frozen in the Farmers Bank of Vero Beach to thecredit of Gordon R Olmstead, as Tax Collector, together with the collatera and that a receipt be given in full to said Gordon R Olmstead and his sureties. The said motion was lost for want of a second. It. was ordered that the Board adjourn until 2x00 o'clock P.Y.Thursday, October 27th. 1932. The Board then adjourned until Thursday, October 27th.1932 at 2:00 o-'clock.P.Y. The Board of County Commissioners in and for Indian River County, Florida, met at the Court House in Vero Bench, Et 2:00 o'clock P.Y.Thursday, October 27th 1932, pursuan to adjournment on Tuesday, October 25th 19329 with the following members of the Board presents Albert 0. Helseth, Chairman; J. D. Yongue; J. W. JaBBruce; J.J.P.Hamilton and Eli C. Walker. Also "present was biles Warren, Clerk. Yr Dewey A. Knight, attorney for the Columbia Casualty Company, surety on the official bond of former Tax Collector, Gordon R Olmstoad, appeared before the Board and discussed the matter of ,& complete settlement between this Board and the said Company as such surety. Atter considerable discussion, It was moved by Commissioner Hamilton that s6ttlem be made in accordance with agreement and understanding had on October 19th 1932, which is as follo*ss "The Board having instructed their attorney to make formal demand on Gordon R Olmstead and his surety for alleged shortage as shown by the State Auditor's report, it was moved by Commissioner LaBruce that the proposition be accepted as made by .Attorney Tomlinson and receipt be gigen cordon R Olmstead and his bondsmen for $6,000.00 Bt' Lucie County, Florida, bonds and $99847.59 in cash being settlement of amounts unaccounted for an shown;by 'State Auditor's report of October 2nd 1932, or the date Yr Olmstead retired from -that office." 13uch action to be taken contingent upon Yr. Olmsteada assigning to the "present Tag Collector amounts frozen in the Farmers Bank of Vero Beach, to the credit of Gardon R Olmstead as Tax Collector, together with the collateral, and that receipt be given in full to said Gordon R Olmstead and his sureties. t
