INDIAN RIVER COUNTY EMERGENCY ORDER 2017-003
WHEREAS, on September 4, 2017, Governor Rick Scott, Governor of the State of Florida, issued
Executive Order Number 17-235, declaring that a state of emergency exists in all or a portion of the State of
Florida (including Indian River County) by reason of Hurricane Irma; and
WHEREAS, on September 7, 2017, I, in my official capacity as County Administrator and Indian River
County Emergency Services Director, and acting pursuant to section 101.10(1) of the Code of Indian River, and
Resolution 2016-120 of the Board of County Commissioners, declared that a local state of emergency exists in
all of Indian River County, Florida, by reason of Hurricane Irma; and
WHEREAS, on September 9, 2017 Emergency Order 2017-002 was issued declaring a mandatory
evacuation of the barrier island, mobile/manufactured home parks, low lying areas, substandard housing and
properties east of U.S. Highway 1; and
WHEREAS, by reason of such declarations of a state of emergency, and pursuant to the authority
granted in me in my capacity as County Administrator and Indian River County Emergency Services District
Director, I am authorized to enter emergency orders necessary to ensure the health, safety and welfare of the
residents of Indian River County, including, without limitation, those orders authorized in chapter 252, Florida
Statutes, and chapter 101 of the Code of Indian River County, and other applicable law; and
WHEREAS, conditions are such that the evacuation order can be lifted.
NOW, THEREFORE,
EMERGENCY ORDER 2017-002 is hereby rescinded as to the mandatory evacuation of the barrier
island, mobile/manufactured home parks, low lying areas and substandard housing.
DONE AND ORDERED at 12:00 p.m. on this 1 1th day of September, 20 7.
