INDIAN RIVER COUNTY EMERGENCY ORDER 2017-009
WHEREAS, on September 4, 2017, Governor Rick Scott, Governor of the State of Florida,
issued Executive Order Number 17-235, declaring that a state of emergency exists in all or a portion of
the State of Florida(including Indian River County)by reason of Hurricane Irma; and
WHEREAS, on September 7th, 2017, September 14th, 2017, September 21St, 2017, September
28th, 2017, October 5th, 2017,and again on October 12th, 2017, I, in my official capacity as County
Administrator and Indian River County Emergency Services District Director, and acting pursuant to
section 101.10(1) of the Code of Indian River, and Resolution 2016-120 of the Board of County
Commissioners, declared that a local state of emergency exists in all of Indian River County, Florida,
by reason of Hurricane Irma; and
WHEREAS, by reason of such declarations of a state of emergency, and pursuant to the
authority granted in me in my capacity as County Administrator and Indian River County Emergency
Services District Director, I am authorized to enter emergency orders necessary to ensure the health,
safety and welfare of the residents of Indian River County, including, without limitation, those orders
authorized in chapter 252, Florida Statutes, and chapter 101 of the Code of Indian River County, and
other applicable law;
NOW, THEREFORE, this Emergency Order is issued declaring that a local State of
Emergency continues to exist for Indian River County.
THIS EMERGENCY ORDER shall be in effect throughout Indian River County from 1:00
p.m. on October 19th, 2017 until 1:00 p.m. on October 26th,2017, or until further order.
DONE AND ORDERED this 19th day of October, 2017.
