The Board of County Commissioners in and for Indian River County, Ploricla s met at the Court House in Vero Beach, at 10:00 o'clock A.M.Priday, May 5th 19339 with the following members of the Board present: J.J.P.Hamilton, Chairman; J.D.Yongue; Vm. Be Peazell, John Me Haight, and Edwin A. Helseth. Also present were Miles Warren,Clerk and William Prick, Sheriff. The Chairman announced the special meeting was called for the purpose of trying tc adjust and settle the mandemus proceedings instituted by the Pauly Jail Building Co., of St. Louis, Missouri. Commissioner Peazell moved that the Pauly Jail Building Company be offered $9,000.00 to retire 9 jail Time warrants, now in default, and the sum of $280.00 for interest coupons which became due April lot 19339 provided the mandamus proceedings be dismissed. Such motion being seconded by Commissioner Knight, and upon being put to a vote all voted for the motion, except Commissioner Yongue who voted No. L. M. Me rriman, attorney for the Pauly Jail building Company appeared before the Board and advised he would accept the same, provided a bill was approved for interest accumulated on the Time Warrants since their default to this date. It was moved, seconded and carried that a bill of $325.00 for accrued interest on defaulted Jail Time Warrants be approved, payable to Pauly Jail Building Co., to be pai from funds when available. Prank Ayers requested authority to capture two whooping cranes to be placed in a show park on the Dixie Highway north of town, which was granted in view it appears the same are to be used for scientific purposes and has the sanction and approval of a representative of the State Game Department. It was ordered that all members of the Board meet at the Court House at 8:30 4 A.M,Priday, May 12th for the purpose of inspecting the roads and bridges of the County, i and making a complete survey of the home conditions of all those receiving aid from the County and those receiving mothers pensions, as well as those who have requested aid from the County at this time..
