Feazell and John R. Shight. Also present was Miles Warren, Clerk. The Chairman announced the special meeting was called for the purpose of con-, sidering and levying a license tax on the sale of beer for the benefit of the County.. On motion of Commissioner Knight end seconded by Commissioner Yongue, and unanimously adopted, it was ordered that the County collect 50% of the amount of State license on dale of beer, porter ale, wine and fruit juices, in accordance with the recent act of the Legislature legalizing such sales,. for County purposes and the Tax Collector is authorized to collect such County license for the remainder of the year 1933 on a basis of 1/2 year license and Tax Collector ordered to place such funds so collected in the General Revenue Fund of the County. It was ordered that the Tax Collector is instructed to have the necessary blanks and forms printed for this purpose to carry out the above order of the Board. TUESDAY, JURE 6th 1933 1 The Board of County Commissioners in and for Indian River County, Florida, met at the Court House in Vero Beach, Florida, at 10:00 o'clock A.B. Tuesday, June 6th 19339 with the following members of the Board present: J.J'.P.Hamilton, Chairman; J.D.Yongue; Wm E Feazell, John M., Knight and Edwin A. He lseth. Also present were Miles Marren, Clerk and William Frick, Sheriff. The minutes of the meetings held Way 2nd 5th and 12th 19339 were read and approved. Eli C Walker appeared before the Board and requested the road be closed between Sections 25 and 26 and between Sections 23 and 24, running North and South,. Township 32 South Range 39 East, which had been heretofore declared a public road, not being used and not open now. It being made to appear the land on each side is now owned by Mr. Walker, and to close such road would not out any person off from their property, on motion made, seconded and carried it was ordered such road be closed. Commissioner Feazell made a motion, which was seconded by Commissioner Yongue, that the following described rights-of-way be closed: The following described rights of way located in the following described Townships and ranges in Indian River County; Township 31, south, Range 36 Bast • 31 a a 37 • a 32 • " 36 a P " 32 " " 37 r according to plate of Fellsmere Farms Company filed in the office of the Clerk of the Circuit Court for St. Lucie County Plorida; 1. A certain thirty foot right of way running parallel with and about half way between laterals *us and sS" of the Fellemere Drainage District, extending from a point Ii where said right of way intersects the tracks of the Trans Plorida Central Railroad,- thenee south°for approximately 5* miles to Drainage Canal 34. 2. Certain rights of way adjacent to drainage snblaterale "S" 179 189 199 200 219 22, 23, 241 259 269 2?, 28, 29, 30, 310 32, 33 and 34 and extending along these sub - laterals for approximately ^one mile to a point where each of the said rights of way inter- sect the right of way running Horth and South and described in paragraph 1. above. _ _ _. _.. _. A pertain thirty foot right of way running parallel with and about one half way between Laterals "S" and •q", extending from a point where this right of way intersects the tracks of the Trans 3Plorida Central Railroad, thence south for approximately miles to Drainage Canal No 340' 40- Certain rights of way adjacent to DrainAge Sublaterals "q 8" 179 189 19 20 9 21, 221 23, 24, 25, 26 g 27, 28, 299 31: 319 32; 330 and 34, and extending along each of these sublaterals for approximately two miles from Lateral "S" to Lateral "q": Where the wards Canale, Laterals and Sublaterale are referred to in the foregoing they refer to portions of the drainage system of the Fellsmsre Drainage District and are In accordance with the official plats of said District. Upon being put to a rote the same was unanimously adopted. W. B. `&affer appeared before the Board requesting assistance in paying hospital bill of Elmer Redding, who was injured while doing work with the releif forces. On motion ma4 v seconded and carried it was ordered the sum of $25.00 be appropriated out of the General Revenue Fund to assist in paying hospital bill. It was ordered Mrs. M. B. Woodruff, Fellsmere, be- placed on the pauper list to receive the sum of $6.00 per month. It was o rdered that re -plat of Ri vera Es tater owned by A .I . Co away be accepted and the Clerk instructed to execute the same on behalf of the Board. A. G. Even submitted an assignment for $250.00 due him from the School Board on account of Special School District #19 for amount bid on the T.W.Brunen house at Sheriff 1i sale and levied upon under execution on judgment held by the County, which was accepted, and ordered that such assignment be given the School Board and same cancelled out as to that much of the debt of this Special School District. A petition was presented signed by Dewey Reams and 9 others requesting the Board to construct a 30 foot farm road leading from ;State Road #4 to the East along the section line between .Sections 1 and 12 Township 33 South Range 39 for approximately 1/2 mile. On motion made seconded and carried it vias ordered that the Road SuPerintendent do this wo as soon as possible. The Barnett National Bank, Cocoa., Florida, having filed application to be designated as County Depository for the year beginning July lot 1933 and ending June 30th 1933, and no other application being on file, it was ordered that such Bank be designated as Depository for the ensuing year and security in the amount of $10,000.00 in U.S.Governmen bonds be placed with the State Comptroller to secure such funds: In the even the total amount on deposit exceeds this amount then additional security shall be given. It was ordered that the mothers Pension allowance to Mrs Emma Crocker be reduced $4.00 per month. It was ordered Mary E Daniels, Vero Beach, be placed on the pauper list to receive the sum of $4.00 per month. It was ordered that Preacher Bane, negro, Sebastian, receive the sum of $6.00 per month as a pauper instead of $5.00 heretofore ordered. It was ordered Mrs Eva Vo tj ik be placed back on the mothers Pension list to receive the sumrof $6.00 per month. Geo. T. Badger, appeared before the Board regarding roofing paint for County Bu ildinge. 1 1 11 1 1 1 1 1 Notice having been give;L, by publication, as required by law, for the submission of bids for the repair of the Nero Bridge and the time having arrived for the opening of such bids the Clerk proceeded to open and read all bids vubmitted. F. G. Fletcher submitted the only bid for this work, and after carefully consider- ing the same, and the bidder agreeing to amend the same to read the total sum of $1122.00 on motion made, seconded and carried such bid was accepted and payment for such work to Jbe made on report of the Road Superintendent of the amount of work done from time to time. It was moved, seconded and carried that the Road Superintendent clean out road ditch on the Paul Luther road East from Donaldson's place at Winter Beach. The several bills and accounts against the County, having been audited, were examined, and found correct were approved and ordered paid. Such bills and accounts being on file in the office of the Clerk Circuit Court. The warrants issued in settlement of the bills and accounts being recorded completely in the County Finance Record as provided by law, reference to such record and the list so recorded being made a part of these minutes as fully and completely as if the same were set out herein in d eta:il. The County Depository filed monthly report of receipts and disbursements Of the p � various funds, which having been checked over was found to be correct. There being no further business on motion made, seconded and carried the Board then adjourned. IN-�l t , i MONDAY, JULY 3rd 1933. The Board of County Commissioners in and for Indian River County, Florida, met at the Clerk's office in the Court House at Vero Beach, at 10:00 o'clock A.M.Vbnday, July 3rd 19339 with the following members of the Board present: J.J.P.Hamilton, Chairman; J.D.Yongue; tem. E. Feazell,Sr., John M. Knight and Edwin A. Helseth. Also present were Biles Marren, Clerk and 1m. Frick, Sheriff. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved. J. W. Hamrick, appeared before the Board regarding a Mr. Engel, who was sick and advised that the citizens of Minter Beach had made up a total of $17.25 to get this man back home in Alabama. Mr. Hamrick requested refund for at least a part of this sum from the Board. It was ordered that $15.65 be appropriated and refunded to the 3 largest contributors of this fund. .Alex MacUilliam member of the Legislature appeared before the Board respecting the taking over for maintenance the Bridges and State Roads in this County by the State Road Department and requested that Fa resolution be adopted urging the State Road Department to lace these items in their budget and take them over. 'Mr. MacWilliams as Mayor of Vero Beach, also called attention to the number of woods ires outside the city limits, and requested a County truck be placed in commission and eft with the fire department of the City. It was ordered that Road Superintendent e instructed to ascertain amount of cost to sot up a. truck to assist in fighting woods ires in the County. No tary Public bond of Be riche, A .
